It’s so individual. I know many parents who were empty nesters at 50-ish, got divorced, and seem pretty miserable. I know some having a great time. I know others who loved still having kids around. We have a ton of resources, can do fun travel with kids, and I’m happy having another at 42.

40 for my second and last. I often remark that I feel too old to be doing the toddler phase again, but our second is definitely more difficult than our first.
