Obese women who look put-together

Agree with many of the recommendations here:
Get your hair cut regularly
Wear a bit of makeup. It really helps.
Look in a full length mirror.
Go to Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack and try on a lot of things. Only buy those things that look great on you.

The vast majority of my clothes are from Nordstrom, but I buy a few things from Boden and Old Navy and Target. It really just depends on the item.

I agree on the uniform. My uniform has changed a lot. One summer it was dresses. I'm working up to wearing woven pants again post covid (lol) but usually I look better than this.

One thing I would add is that you should be comfortable in your clothes. It's not a good look if you have to keep pulling up your pants because they are sliding down, or if you worry about adjusting your scarf or the shoulder strap of your bag.

Shapewear

Good-quality clothing. Go to Nordstrom and get a stylist to help. When you find something that works—whether it is a wrap dress or a certain pair of trousers or a flattering sweater—buy multiples/buy as many flattering colors as possible.

IMPECCABLE hair, makeup, nails. This doesn’t mean “overdone,” the makeup can be understated. But basically you can’t get away with a lazy ponytail and no makeup.
