Just glad that Abdel-Rahman Elnoubi will get a guaranteed seat since only 3 are running in District C. He was a fabulous Tucker PTA president - great organizational and advocacy skills and will be a good voice for the West End.

I was interested in her campaign but by not responding publicly to his attacks on her outdoor lunch project (sorry but a safe, closed Facebook group post is NOT responding publicly), it tells me that she won't stand up to him if elected.

I get that Hutchings has a well documented history of seeking retribution in Alexandria and Shaker Heights & that is intimidating.

But after the constant family social media photo posts, over the top vendor promotion and rambling website, I'm no longer interested.

The only serious candidate I see in B is Simpson Baird. She is substantive, serious and strikes the right tone. It's a very big contrast.

To be clear, she posted on the ACPS parent’s page. It’s some super secret page, it’s just closed to keep out trolls. Most involved parents are on it already.

It's designed to keep out the trolls like the one you are addressing. These people have zero integrity. And despite their apparent comfort here, many of us know who they are and share their identities privately.

Once again we in Alexandria are outdone by our neighbors in Arlington. When a critical mass of parents there complain, APS leadership brings about change.

Maybe we can retitle this thread “Hutchings is a dumpster fire” in hopes of having the same outcome as in Arlington.

Funny. I get a response every.single.time I email him. Some of my emails have been about problems. I still get a response almost immediately. I don't think he would even know what I look like face-to-face but he sure is responsive when I send him a polite message.

Yes. In fact the first time was a "problem." I need to clarify that when I say that I wrote about a "problem" it still means that I haven't jumped the protocols, I'm not going over someone's head because I am unhappy with the answers I'm getting, I'm not looking for anything extra for my kids, I am always respectful in my words and tone, and I'm not expecting special favors. I don't write him all the time, perhaps only a few times over the past few years, but each time I've received a near immediate response from him and sometimes from the appropriate person who actually handled the issue.
