I've felt this too. Why do you think?

She put together a petition for outdoor lunches. Language from thy petition is what many parents are using to email the board.

And yet, she hasn't said a word about his comments from Thursday's meeting. But she found the time to post a bunch of new pictures of her family on her campaign facebook page. Is there no one in B who can give this poor woman campaign advice? She was handed an opportunity to rally parents and blew it. Too late now.

I did notice that Ashley Simpson Baird got out there and made a statement about it the very next day.

That is incorrect. She posted something on a Facebook page for all ACPS parents. If you’re not already a member, and it sounds like you’re not, you should look to join.

What would be the point in making a statement on a closed facebook page and not your campaign pages?

Exactly. Nothing she has done so far invokes any level of confidence from me. She seems like a hot mess.

Who was the candidate who got the DUI recently?

Westfall got my vote as well. She is way better than current members.

Westfall is a virtue signaling grand stander. Seems like we already have enough of those.

I don’t know about her virtue signaling, but she’s already off to a good start with respect to pushing back against the incompetent stooge of a superintendent ACPS has.

I am exploring candidates, and don't find her website very illuminating with respect to her positions on issues. How can I find out more about her? Legitimately asking.

At this point, I don’t care what people’s platforms are so much as long as holding Hutchings accountable is high on the list.

The sad reality is that Alexandria can’t afford to fire Dr. Hutchings. Too expensive. Even if he was fired, would replace him? ACPS has a reputation. Nobody wants the job.

+1. A better outcome would be for the school board to push back, ask questions, and challenge Dr. Hutchings on some of his ideas, rather than just letting him do whatever he wants.

Westfall is immensely popular in the east end.

Is she? That's not what I see from the numbers on her social media accounts and lawn sign coverage.

I was interested in her campaign but by not responding publicly to his attacks on her outdoor lunch project (sorry but a safe, closed Facebook group post is NOT responding publicly), it tells me that she won't stand up to him if elected.

I get that Hutchings has a well documented history of seeking retribution in Alexandria and Shaker Heights & that is intimidating.

But after the constant family social media photo posts, over the top vendor promotion and rambling website, I'm no longer interested.

The only serious candidate I see in B is Simpson Baird. She is substantive, serious and strikes the right tone. It's a very big contrast.

Can’t you vote for more than one candidate? I don’t remember.

You can vote for three but that doesn't mean you have to vote for three. I'm over voting for SB candidates who don't deserve my vote.

Yes, you vote for three. With three candidates running in District C, they're essentially guaranteed a spot.

Lots of wolves in sheep clothing here. Tells me people are scared of Westfall...

I would contact her. She is very responsive if you email her or message her on Instagram.
