RM has become a troubled school lately |
No more than W's where kids are running around the parking lot with knives. |
Agree but MCPS is so focused on the achievement gap, but I don't think that's a problem schools can solve. All MCPS can do is provide great opportunities for students. You can't make kids want to learn or adopt your priorities. |
+1 lol Someone loves to bash RM. Maybe they are jealous and upset that their DC didn't get into RMIB. |
The IB program? |
No. |

This thread is evidence that some people never grow up and are trying to live vicariously through their kids ( or at least make themselves look better because of their kids).
The answer is simple. The MCPS magnet and choice programs offer a rigorous and interesting HS educational experience to students should they so desire to pursue. |
Maybe. But, honestly, all of MCPS has become ‘troubled’. Discipline is an issue in every cluster. I don’t see RM as any worse or better with respect to ‘school environment’ and ‘school safety’ than any other MCPS high school. Unfortunately, they all kind of stink. Teachers and staff are stretched too thin. Kids behavior is atrocious. |
oh, but W schools don't have all those poor kids that cause trouble. RM has 23% FARMs, and like 40% combined black and hispanic kids . To some, that's too many. |
Just another case of magnet envy.. |
I'm very happy that my RMIB kid attends school outside the Bethesda/Potomac bubble. He feels comfortable there. |
The need another mid-county Magnet or DCC program. Crown HS would be my choice. Parents could actually get to it in an emergency from either 270 or 370. |
Into nurturing the next generation of protesters are we? 2016, 2018, 2022 (they skipped walking out in 2020 due to covid..) |
My sentiments as well. I think they're better prepared for real life... |
Angry mob training? Their parents must be so proud. Yes, honey, let's definitely send the kids to the RM magnet! |
