I'd say both players and scouts/coaches are thirsty for top competition and this is a sensational warm-up for ECNL finals in a month. North Carolina will be a great host... no shade to NJ still working through issues. No tournament winners obviously, but this will be big for clubs.

And what rules would you have ECNL put in place to get the result you desire?

No one is asking for anything crazy. Can the showcase events please just be self contained and not have the results used for other considerations and if that is asking too much than just do this for u16 and up or even just u17 and up. That is all. Very simple and easy. Thank you.

Disagree. The parameters of the event can be set to encourage showcasing and deemphasize focus on outcomes. This is tiresome. Good luck to your player(s).
