Celebrity encounter: fact or fiction?

I used to live in Wilmington, NC while Dawson's Creek was filming and Katie Holmes used to go to the gym I attended. She had a Myada (sp?). I met Terri Hatcher at Dulles airport.

I know, right? I'm guessing fiction, but hoping fact, because...AWESOME.

Total fiction. I have a very active fantasy life. Glad you liked. Want more? I could fill in those three hours for ya...

The funny thing was that Gwyneth Paltrow became such a 'legend' that summer for real and percieved slights that my sister and her friends were constantly referencing back to her as in "Oh I'm sorry GWYNETH I did't realise that you wanted to talk first" etc. I was stunned when she started to become famous- not for her acting or anything but the fact that this poor(?) girl had been such a familiar joke around my family.

My sister loved 'Shakespeare in Love' but still rolls her eyes when Gwyneth Paltrow is brought up into a conversation.

My old roommate went to Spence with her and confirms that she was a total bitch. She must be downright horrid now.

She must be really good at acting like she's nice and down to earth. She seems that way in interviews.

I saw David Chappelle, along with about 500 other people that day, at Longworth House office building. He was friendly enough but a little bored. He was there to cash a check at the bank in the basement. One of my friends took a picture of the two of us. I look like a total idiot in the pic. Chappelle has a very slender head and I'm round faced. I look like a giant pumpkin head next to him.

I saw Uma Thurman, post-Ethan, in New York at an Avenue Q showing. Very tall and skinny.

I've seen Chris Rock, and Tom Cruise, AND Harrison Ford's body double in DC for filming. I guess body doubles don't count.

I also saw Nick Stahl, the kid from Terminator 3, at the Chinatown movies. He was in front of us in the food concession line. I'm not cool so I asked him, "hey, are you that guy from Terminator 3?" He said yes, I said cool, and then I turned and walked away. He then sat right behind me during the movie (I forgot what movie it was but I remember liking it). My hubby said that he looked secretly happy that someone recognized him. He looked like he does in the movies but needed a shower. Seems to be a recurring theme.

My heart just broke a little...though I enjoy your fantasy life

I just saw Cindy Crawford last week in Malibu having lunch with her husband. I first noticed the mole and then recognized her--she is very very pretty with no makeup, looking like a totally normal pretty woman. I was with my 3 year old daughter and we came back a while later to get lunch and Cindy's husband was still there, hanging out with some friends, I guess. My daughter and I were heading to the next the table and he gave us a smile.

Maybe she's changed. That was 20 years ago. Or she's just a really good actress. She does have an Oscar!

Fun thread!

Joyce DiDonato --Opera singer, at a friend's party
Jeffrey Jones --A friend of my brother's
Axl Rose, John Goodman, John Cougar Mellencamp, Sylvester Stallone, Steven King (maybe, he could have lied) -- At a strip club where I used to "dance"

Paul Giamatti walking around Brooklyn Heights rather inconspicously.

Jeffrey Jones as in Mr. Rooney? As in registered sex offender for child porn? Not sure I'd claim him if I were your brother!

Karl Rove was on my recent Southwest flight back from Phoenix. That sort of surprised me.

In a very DC moment, I saw Ted Koppel, Sam Donaldson and Bill Bradley all on the same Delta Shuttle flight to NYC. BB is huge and TK is tiny. It was actually pretty funny to see them together. And Sam Donaldson was very sweet -- helped me pry my bag out of the overhead bin without waiting to be asked.

TK is so very tiny and dead, actually.

Just sayin'.

Uh, I'm guessing this was a pre-death flight PP. Just sayin'.

Ted Koppel is not dead!
