| I discovered pickleball by reading the kid's section of Washington post. I took a few lessons with Montgomery county rec department and now I play three times a week. Such fun! |
| Coin collecting. Relaxing. |
| Glute training- butt got bigger 2 or 3 inches during this journey |
Oooh, please tell me what your goto exercises have been?! Also, have your thighs gotten bigger as well? |
DP - several years ago I took a pottery class with DD at our local community center. Their art room had a kiln and we could continue to work independently there if we'd wanted to and pay a small fee for use of the kiln. I also have a neighbor who is a potter with a thriving business and she lets a couple hobby potter friends use her kiln. |
What worked for me are isolation exercises like hip thrusts, lunges, RDLs. I'm naturally skinny so thighs haven't gotten bigger but hamstrings has developed right where the hamstring ties in with the glutes area. I don't go too crazy on squats since it builds up my quads I'm quad-dominate. Pull throughs, kickbacks, single leg exercises are great. |
I could use this, for glutes or thighs. Most people I imagine do not need this hobby. |
Thank you! do you do weighted hip thrusts? Also, any squats? |
True, I was not blessed with a butt and I've been into fitness/sports all my life. |
| Cycling -- relearned how to ride a bike at 24. Yes, I forgot!! |
LOL, I founded and run a political consulting firm and I knit
I also hire people with hobbies - I like the passion for something outside of work, and it helps their actual work to be excited by things in their life. |

I love wildlife and like to identify them. So I became a birdwatcher. Then I wanted to watch them a bit closer so that I could photograph them. so I started to hang bird feeders around my house.
Then I started to plant seed bearing plants and that also led to watching other pollinators - hummers. butterflies, moths, bees etc...so more native plants were planted and I also put in some water feature. When I started to get dragonflies, frogs, toads, salamander, turtles (and some snakes), then I fully moved to not using pesticide/herbicide/fertilizer on my lawn and instead planted clover. Very soon, I was buying books on birdwatching, flora and fauna of any country I visited and I found immense pleasure in spotting and identifying all sorts of plants and critters and taking pictures... want to hear more? I am not very much into environmental advocacy too. And I want to help in restoring our forests and woods... |
Yes weighted and bodyweights (single leg). I use those mini bands around my thighs to add more resistance and where you position your feet makes a difference out of trial and error I found closer the feet more muscle recruitment. Squats are great and any variations of it. It works so many muscles at a time it's a good overall exercise. |
| Jaywalking. I enjoy dodging cars like Frogger. Keeps things exciting. I found this hobby by chance, when I was jaywalking once. |
