I have too many interests and hobbies! As a result, if the hobby requires developing a skill, I never get to expert level at anything. But I’m decently good at lots of things.
This is what I’m currently the most into: Gardening - intermediate Knitting - beginner Sewing - beginner Baking - intermediate Birdwatching - beginner |

My hobby is travel: researching it, planning it, dreaming about it, and doing it.
The past 15 months have extra sucked for me. |
PP here - my other hobby is trying new restaurants. Also a year of suck. So glad to be vaccinated! |
| I've always loved to read, always loved swim, dance, yoga, always loved going for walks, loved reality tv since it was born, etc. |
| I adopted a dog while living in an apartment. She was crazy hyper and smart and needed an outlet. I enrolled in agility class and got hooked. I’m now on dog number 3 and dog sports are my passion and escape from mom-ing. It’s exercise, social outlet, and time with my dogs learning new things. |

Cooking. I dislike baking (too regimented and no room for error), but I am always up for trying new recipes and experimenting with different ingredients and flavors.
Also Pokémon Go. Haha. |
| For my hobby I paint, mostly watercolors. I started with several books to learn basic to intermediate techniques and then branched out into taking classes (both in-person and online). I find it both relaxing and challenging, and it's been fun to see the vast improvement in my skills over the past three years. I've even sold a few pieces and been in a couple of shows! |
| Reading, gardening, kayaking |

Home dec kind of sewing.
Upholstery (took a class a few years ago) Gardening/yard work |
| DCUM is my hobby. |
Travel is one of my hobbies as well and while I've missed doing it this year, I've actually kept up my hobby specifically because, as you note, I love the research/planning/dreaming phase. One think my DH and I have done this year is make a list of all the places we want to go when we can, and I've started planning several of those trips. As travel restrictions lift and the opportunities arise, we're going to start going. We're already planning some little trips this summer now that we're vaccinated, to places where we can travel by car. And then we'll add more. I just mention this because it surprised me how much I was able to get out of just researching and thinking about travel in the last year even though we couldn't go. I made me realize how much the planning aspect of it is genuinely pleasurable for me. |
Where did you take a class on upholstery? That sounds awesome! |

Cross stitch. My mom taught me when I was little and her mom taught her. I didn’t have the patience to finish a big project till after college. Now I find it really relaxing and I feel very productive while watching tv since I stitch at the same time.
I read and cook a lot too. |
| Speedskating. I was at the rink to drop my kids off for figure skating lessons and saw a sign about a speedskating club.... |

Genealogy. I’ve really enjoyed researching my family, both on my mom and dad’s side. Now I really, really want to talk to my dad but he died 15 years ago. What I’ve learned has made me more interested in certain aspects of American history so I focus my nonfiction reading that way.
I have a big tree in Ancestry. Recently I accidentally posted a photo of a grave to the record of the wrong ancestor (same first name) and I got a few questioning messages from random people I don’t know and I realized people look at and rely on my research. |
