+1000 Or have public institutions named after famous Nazis. |
Whatever valid points the author may have had, he lost me with that line. |
Wrong. It’s someone who has read several of her articles, thought critically about them, and concluded they are disingenuous, not rooted in fact, and at times, nothing more than clickbait written to keep her name in the news. Aka garbage takes. |
| No they are not. She is brave because she looks at subjects critically and doesn’t engage in group think. |
Then why not let the investigations continue and prove that? Why halt them? |
How critically has she looked at this letter? She just printed it? |
Because one of the lead lawyers arguing this nonsense is now in court saying no reasonable person would actually believe what she was saying. |
DP. I am the political moderate who posted above and I totally agree with this. I think that there are some serious problems with some of the teaching that goes on, particularly the hostility to any open discussion. Of course, schools were hostile to any honest and un-elided discussions about American experiences with slavery for many years, so it's not like this issue is new, it's just coming from a different angle. But rigid educational orthodoxy is an issue and is part of his letter gets to that, sort of. But he lost me completely with this stupidity about no systemic racism. Come on. |
Ha. “ yOu aRe aRgUInG frOM feeLIngS Not fACTS” is exactly what my right-wing cousin bleats, while insisting that the 2020 election was changed by voter fraud even with mountains of evidence to the contrary. Because voter fraud is something you just feel in your bones, I guess. She also insists that Democrats are emotional and Republicans are rational, even as broad scientific consensus inevitably supports the D position whereas the R position is backed up by Tucker Carlson, a bunch of anonymous posters, and this one guy who used to be respected scientifically a long time ago, before his wife left him and he started posting walls of text in the internet. It’s one of the weirdest projections I’ve ever seen. |
Because they were not showing anything that weren't transparent Qanon fantasies. There is no reasonable need to spend public funds on an obvious wild goose chase. It was a fiscally prudent and rational decision. I don't debate with ill people, and won't engage further on this. The sooner the Republican party sidelines you and the rest of Qanon, the stronger the party will be. There is a deep desire for a rational conservative party in this country and you and Qanon are holding that back. |
Best to pull your kids. The stem schools and christian schools are benefiting greatly from the new experimental social studies curricula at some private schools. |
Correct. It’s alienating whites, immigrants, and blacks. Many of riches just follow along and nod, after all they were elsewhere and moved here the last 5-20 years and never studied it even in school. Common sense still shouldn’t go out the window. |
Is someone here trying to compare one country’s leader who caused a European based world war with the concept of slavery which existed in practice for 1000s of years on every continent? And still continues today in some areas? Makes me want to see how silly these woke schools’ debate teams think/talk. Has discussion and debate now changed to gaslighting and deflecting? The more office the wall tangents the better= win. Just shut down the discussion with the most outlandish stuff? |
Good point, they should have followed the process and procedure like they did for Gores 2-3 month recount and investigations. Stopping due process for made up political gain is not good. |
Or maybe she’s like Shock & Awe Twitter AOC, “you know, I just wanted to get the conversation started somehow....” |
