I woke up this morning and told DH that I had a dream last night that I had moved to Myanmar and I was managing an unaccompanied minors shelter. He didn't feign interest in what I shared, which is fine, but shared that he had a dream that someone moved all of his tools into the street and they became covered in snow and he had to dig them out. We're just different. 😂😂😂

Dreaming of something covered in snow means you are in conflict with somebody in your life.

Dreaming of doing community service shows you are disconnected from people and the community. (Aka self absorbed)

So true in your life.

Source?

FWIW I actually do this type of work now. What made the dream unlike life was being in Myanmar.

You can google dream interpretation... you are smart figure it out.

It doesn’t matter if you can do it, it matters that you dreamed about it.

Feel better?

I don’t understand why pp would think her dream would somehow make her smarter than her spouse.

DH never dreams. I dream every night.

It wasn't about the dream. It was illustrative of our thought processes and conversations.
Perhaps I'm reading too deeply into this. Perhaps you are. Who knows. Doesnt matter.

This is a terrible example. Do you have any better ones? I’m on team DH after the dream example

NP. FYI, everyone dreams every night. If you remember your dream, it means you woke up during it. So your DH just sleeps more soundly than you.

My DH too. I loved his funny side. We complimented each other so well even though I had much less education. He adored me and I him. He died unexpectedly in 2020 and I miss him so much. I am so thankful he never thought of me as dumb. We were empty nesters too. If you cannot let your hair down at home, with your spouse, where can you relax?

There is something called the law of diminishing returns is IQ. As the IQ goes over a certain # people actually get stupider. They might still be good at reading, memorizing and taking tests but everything else is lacking. That seems to be happening with a few on this thread.

Myanmar and unaccompanied minors are all over the news. This PP just watches too much TV or it popped up on her phone and then feels proud of herself like she’s all “informed” or something. Haha!

The OP’s husband reminds me of my neighbor’s husband. His wife complains to me about how he watches Jerry Springer and Judge Judy. For a dinner party, guess what he served us? Bake trays from Costco! I was annoyed by the lack of effort but of course didn’t say anything, Now, I’m thinking that he is just dumb and/or clueless.

I think the “smart” people on this thread are linguistically intelligent but seriously lack intelligence in the many other facets of intelligence which is why they don’t connect well with their spouse.

My DH is smarter than me -- significantly. Thank God he's not a jerk about it.

Huh?

What are "bake trays," or should I feel dumb for asking?

My husband is a lot smarter than I am. His IQ is much higher than mine. He is a Mensa member and I am average.
I am the one who speaks three languages somewhat fluently and I take an interest in current events and can discuss most topics that are news in several foreign countries. All he can discuss is Baseball stats and the video game he plays. He is smart, but uninformed and uninterested.
