Wondering if any reporter will ask Joe about this, or any of the other scandals surrounding Hunter at Joe's first press conference today.

Considering that Politico's "sources" are two random, unidentified people and that the Secret Service has no record of it, I doubt it.

This is embarrassing muckraking. Make sure you read the entire story to find the fact that the gun store owner never talked to the Politico reporter.

No, he talked to police and FBI and police reports were used to source the news story.

Read it again, the story doesn't say that.

"While police questioned Hunter and Hallie, two Secret Service agents arrived at the store where Hunter had purchased the gun, StarQuest Shooters & Survival Supply in Wilmington, according to the two people familiar with the incident. The agents showed their badges and identification cards to Palmieri, the store’s owner, and asked to take possession of the Firearms Transaction Record that Hunter had filled out to buy the gun earlier that month, according to the people familiar with the incident."

Politico's only sources here are two people they've allowed to remain anonymous without providing any reason for doing so.

Congrats! You've been manipulated by the fake news.

The sources are definitely people connected to the gun shop - the owner(s), employees, or their immediate family members. Of course they will leak stuff about Hunter - who do you think they supported in the 2020 election?

A bunch of gossiping gun rights yentas. Surely they can't have an agenda...

The sources are people who know what happened and are connected to the gun shop and that’s “fake news?”

PP here - my point is we don't know who the sources are because Politico chose to keep them anonymous and has not provided any description of who they are - i.e.- law enforcement or federal agents or employees. One source is supposedly someone with "firsthand" knowledge of what happened in the gun store and the other one is someone who was "briefed" by "a" Secret Service Agent after the fact.

There's no context of who the sources are or why these sources are being afforded anonymity. So they could be anyone or no one. There's also no corroborating information that Secret Service actually visited the gun shop. The gun shop owner didn't speak to Politico and the Secret Service says they have no record of any involvement. And yet the story is written to make it sound like the gun shop owner is providing this information about the interaction to Politico even including that the gun shop owner suspected the Secret Service was trying to take the paperwork in an effort to hide Hunter Biden's ownership of the gun. Which a) is stupid. The police already knew it was his gun - both he and his girlfriend talked to the police and he went and got the gun case.

Go back and read the story really carefully and look where they weave tidbits in to make it look like someone other than their two anonymous sources provided information about alleged Secret Service involvement. It's well done and very much intended to create a narrative that there's very little support for.

You people believed the pee pee Trump story. You believed the Steele Dossier. You believed Avenatti. You believed Cuomo. THIS, to you, is questionable as

They also believe Cohen went to Prague. Some still do. They believed the story about Trump calling GA and telling them to "find votes." That was debunked a couple weeks ago when a tape of the call surfaced. Turned out the reporter was relying on a single source. They believed a bunch of crap that was poorly sourced and later debunked.

But, this story - they doubt because sources aren't named. Welcome to our world, liberals.

Can you point me to a source that explains the Georgia call’s being debunked? I haven’t heard anything about that. I thought the tape of the entire conversation was released months ago.

It was. The PP is talking about a call to a different official. WaPo had to correct a story it ran about it. It was a completely nothing, but the PP wants to dissemble.

Oh, I thought pp was referring to the call with Raffensperger, but now I see that’s not the call pp was referencing.

For him. Not for you.

Like all dems.

Absolutely. He can even have his guns dumped off by schools and it’s all good.

No you are confused. It was a laptop with a picture of a gun dropped for near a school. Try to keep up.

Why on earth is Biden supposed to answer for this? Go ask Hunter FFS! When you're at a board meeting do you expect someone to ask for a report on why your kid got suspended form high school?

Let's see.....

Biden, when asked about Hunter's business dealings in Ukraine and Russia, previously has said he doesn't talk to his son about business and knew nothing.
That was a lie, as evidence that has come to light proves.

Secret Service was involved... Why? Does Biden know anything about this? His spokesperson says he doesn't, but we can't trust his statement. How did the SS know about this and who sent them?

You know damn well that if Don Jr. or Eric Trump had this story written about them when their dad was president, Trump would have been asked about it... in fact, it would probably be the first question.

Hatch. Act. Never. Enforced.

Ivanka wore one of her bracelets on 60 Minutes to advertise it...funny how nothing was done about that...

It hasn't been determined to be fake. Liberals just WANT it to be fake.
In fact, many of the emails found on the laptop have been confirmed by the people listed as recipients.
We just need to wait for the FBI. And, at the rate they move, it may be when Biden has left office before we know the full details.

Hunter Biden texts contradict claims Secret Service wasn’t involved in gun case

Hunter Biden sent a text message that said the Secret Service responded after his handgun disappeared in 2018 — contradicting the agency’s assertion that it wasn’t involved, The Post has learned.

In a lengthy message sent the following year, President Biden’s son described the situation in detail, saying his former sister-in-law-turned-lover, Hallie Biden, tossed the firearm into a trash bin outside Janssen’s Market, a gourmet grocery store in Wilmington, Del.

“She stole the gun out of my trunk lock box and threw it in a garbage can full to the top at Jansens [sic]. Then told me it was my problem to deal with,” Hunter wrote.

“Then when the police the FBI the secret service came on the scene she said she took it from me because she was scared I would harm myself due to my drug and alcohol problem and our volatile relationship and that she was afraid for the kids.”

So the Secret Service was involved, per Hunter’s own texts.

Yeah. Dr. Jill maybe isn’t so sweet. Her first husband claims she cheated on him with Joe, etc, and now we have Hunter and his therapist (that’s who Hunter is texting) talking about issues with her as step-mom. Yikes.

+1

For all the people being like "Joe is such a doting dad!" ... from other texts that were published earlier in the year, it sounds like Joe drove Hunter to this messy state. I remember reading a newspaper in the UK that had screenshots from Hunter telling his sister that "I won't force you to financially support me like my dad did" (not the exact words, of course, but that was the idea). Hunter's half-sister, Dr. Jill's daughter, also has drug issues, but she's very quiet about them.

I do not see Hunter as having done anything wrong. Even the permit application was fine, assuming that Hunter was not then a user or addict. SS's involvement was not really confirmed.

Appropriate action???? No. Locked in a safe? That would work. And if his frame of mind was disturbing, possibly a call to a shrink, if either she or he had one, or to police to consider involuntary assessment and potentially 72 hour hold.

The person who did find the gun turned it into the store manager. Plenty of other people who dumpster dive would not. It could easily end up in the hands of a kid, it could end up pretty much anywhere. As I recall, the undocumented guy on the West Coast (the one that caused a lot of ruckus about illegal aliens killing people) found an abandoned gun which went off, killing the victim by accident.
