| Looking at Global rankings Emory is clearly more highly regarded than Tufts and Middlebury. But that might not be fair because Midd has no grad programs. The only ranking I could find that has both LAC's and Uni's is WSJ and Emory is the more regarded school on that list as well. So I'm not sure what the argument is for Tufts or Middlebury, it seems as though Emory is the all-around better school ( both grad and undergrad). |

Use rankings however you like but don’t act like it’s anything definitive. |

You must not have been looking very hard. |
It's not...I'm sure there are outliers but most people only use US news, WSJ, and maybe QS for international students. Do not know much about forbes ranking but I know the others are reputable. That being said ranking aren't everything and not why one should choose a school, but posters in the thread are saying Tufts and MIdd are BETTER than Emory but I can't find much of anything that would even suggest that. US news U.S- Emory-21 Tufts-30 US news global Emory-71 Tufts-182 WSJ/THE US Emory-24 Tufts- 31 Middlebury-37 WSJ/THE global Emory- 85 Tufts- 155 Middlebury- N/A |
This doesn't prove any points as Emory is much higher than Middlebury on this ranking and a few spots below Tufts... Again this ranking is about value not prestige or academics or anything relevant to what was being discussed before. Fonts suggested Midd and Tufts were more prestigious and academically better (i.e better grad school placement) yet you're posting about ROI and value. Don't move the goal post. |
Ya said you couldn’t find any where either were ahead. I provided three examples in two minutes looking. THE is about research and has almost nothing to do with undergraduate learning. But hey, you like Emory. Great school. Brilliant kids. But just admit that not every ranking will put Emory above Tufts and Middlebury, which was your contention. |
Any ranking about “prestige” is inherently stupid. You can’t be serious. |
Emory was featured in a popular book about how to get into college, so now it is more popular. |
The Value ranking only matters if you are paying or money is tight. |
| Jesus Christ. Still having a pissing contest over Emory vs. Middlebury? |
Most moronic post of the day. |
it's very important to that one kid year who has their choices narrowed down to a small liberal arts college in rural Vermont with a heavy focus on languages and a university in suburban Atlanta known for life sciences |
Middlebury apps increased by 30%. |
This is a dumb point. All top 25 schools are wealthy. To be a top school one has to be wealthy, it's a pre-requisite. |
