Why do people hate Disney?

Disney is actually extremely well constructed. They have some of the best engineers and designers in the world.

It’s NOT MEANT TO BE REAL.

That’s what people here don’t get. No one is walking around Epcot being like “wow, I’m in France! I’m in Morocco!”

Of course I would rather go to Japan or Hawaii but Orlando is an easy flight. Not like Disney is our only vacation but one of many.

I am talking about non covid times.

Disney can also be fun for adults.

Not adults I would want to be friends with. Going to Universal and seeing all of the adults dressed up in Harry Potter garb is shocking.

Like a gross Renaissance Festival

Last time we went, we didn’t wait more than 30-40 min for anything.

Not my problem you can’t plan.

Meanwhile, you’re sitting around, sipping your tea with your pinky out, wondering why no one wants to be friends with you.

Hint: It’s because your stick is so far up your ass, it’s coming out the other side.

I think it must be the people who don't have the money to travel elsewhere as well. If Disney is your one big vacation of the year, I wouldn't want to go either. If you are doing that as well as a ski trip, a trip to the Caribbean to escape winter for a week, a national park trip or beach trip, and a trip to Europe (which is what our travel schedule for the year would like) then it's just one fun week among many others.

The ultra Disney lover on this thread is showing their ass just as much as the ultra Disney haters. With responses like “you just did it wrong” or “you hate kids”...who cares if they don’t like it? Move on!

Yeah, probably true. Poor people.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to friends with someone with such a large stick up their ass.

No stick up my ass, I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Just not my scene or thing. I don't understand how adults get so into something that is clearly geared toward children. Same way I don't get people that get people that are beyond passionate about a football team that it takes an emotional toll on them. Or that if "their" team loses they get angry. I watch it for entertainment value, but at the end of the day a team winning or losing has absolutely zero impact on my life.

Same here with no waits longer than that but the planning takes a lot of effort on my part and I also have to get up early while there I still like it but I understand why it can be challenging for others.

Seems like you can’t. Calling people who go intellectually impoverished? Saying it’s “shocking” to see adults there? Seems like you can’t drag yourself away from hating on it.

It’s only your perspective that it’s clearly geared towards children.

Walt Disney’s goal was to create a place that the entire family could enjoy — not just kids. That’s what Disney is.

If it’s not for you, fine, but don’t say things that are patently just false.

My kid enjoyed it, but even he has no desire to go back.

Amateur... No wonder the kid didn't have fun.

Some people hate camping, some hate hiking, some hate cruises, some hate hotels, some hate organized tours, some hate disney, some hate the grand canyon, some hate California. My point is that people weird and are haters. It's hard for many people to imagine that people think and feel differently from them.

Preach!

People shouldn’t be putting their kids through a trip they so failed at planning.

I have money to travel wherever I want, but I can't take time away from work to do that many trips, so Disney is not in my consideration set. If you like it and have the time to go, fine. I don't find it to be fun, but if others do, good on them.
