will DC be safe on the 20th?

Dc may not be safe on the 27th. I read commentary the million militia March has been moved to the 27th. Guess they are waiting for the national guard to go home.

NP. I assume it’s the difference between pre 9/11 and post 9/11 Mall security. Even the folk life festival changed.

The Folklife Festival changed because the National Park Service spent a lot of money on the grass on the Mall and didn't want the tents to ruin it.

totally off topic ... the folklife festival is always sooo miserably hot. they need to accept global warming and move it to the fall or spring.

I loved the festival but stopped going years ago due to that and the crowds. I wonder if they time it with "tourist season" on purpose though. What ends up happening is locals stay away! LO

Oh FFS. We have some serious problems as a country. We need to do some deep investigation into what the hell is wrong with us and how we can fix it.

I have never seen a bigger psy-ops operation in my whole life. Great use of taxpayer dollars.

It was the week before July 4, to celebrate America! It's always been hot in July in D.C., global warming or not. No need to move it to the spring.

I'm more worried about the crime spike in DC--murders, jackings, armed robberies. I'm glad Bowser is in the limelight with inauguration prep, but what about local threats?

It's so crowded, nobody goes there anymore. Or at least nobody would go there, if they had it, which they haven't for the past 2 years.

It's crowded and hot! The folk life festival itself is fantastic-- it would be great if they consider spring or fall if they reinstate it. Maybe it would even drum up tourism/give people a reason to visit in the "off season"

whatever spring is, it's NOT the off season for tourism in DC.
