It's not. Lots of places are in school buildings, but also lots of places are doing remote. |
| Keeping 3rd grader and 8th graders DL. Tough decision for the 3rd grader, but we're erring on the side of caution. |
You do realize that hybrid won't start for most of the population until the county metrics are 5 cases per 100k population. We are currently at 28. So that would already require a significant improvement. |
| Hybrid. 6th grader in a magnet, needs the bus but in a pinch, if it's only twice a week, we might be able to find transportation. |
Don’t worry. Hybrid won’t occur until MoCo is at 5 cases/100k people. That’s not going to happen for several years. |
I really wish that people on DCUM would stop starting their posts with "You do realize that..." It's gratuitously hostile. Also, I'm not the PP, but no, we do NOT know that hybrid won't start until the county is at 5 new cases per 100,000 people. All we know is that 5 new cases per 100,000 people is the benchmark they're saying they'll use, right now. |
Yes- in the event they change the metrics, we are keeping our options open. Fortunately my kids are doing well with online learning. |
| Hybrid for my 1st and 6th graders. No transportation. |
DP Well, I think people don’t realize that even if they put hybrid as their chosen option, that doesn’t mean that all of a sudden, their kids will be thrown back into in-person school, starting February 2020. That will not be the case. |
What do you base this opinion on? |
They should have to do a new survey if they change the benchmark. |
I don’t know anyone stupid enough to believe that’s what will happen. |
| Update from the board of ed meeting -- as of today, there are 108,067 responses, 50.5% chose hybrid, 49.5% chose virtual. |
| Should not have waited until the last minute to fill out the “survey”. The server isn’t responding. I waited because I thought it was actually a survey when really it’s a decision, and I know MCPS doesn’t really give a shit what I think anyways. |
Well, for one thing, we haven't invented time travel yet. |
