| I haven’t had any issues in a while. I’m also happy that my route has settled in for delivery between 9-10:30 pm, so I can put everything away before I go to bed and don’t have to wait up. They have fixed the text problem. I wish I could a la carte more meat (the bundles have things we won’t use, or are too large as we don’t have room for a backup freezer in our house), but they seem to have ironed the kinks out. |

Thank you, PPs, for resurrecting this thread! I just signed up, after noticing that they were coming to a couple of my neighbors, and got my first order last week. It worked flawlessly; it came midmorning, I got a text, and the milk was delicious. I'm going to try one of the meal bundles and the much-praised coffee cake this week.
I hadn't realized till I read the thread above that tipping via the ordering process was even possible. The website can be a little inscrutable. Are people generally tipping in cash, or via the online shopping cart? I haven't used cash in so long, but if I remember to get someone to break a 20 for me I could leave it in the cooler...hmm. |
There's an online option for tipping. |
|
How much is the delivery fee? The website talks about a yearly fee being available, but does not say if the delivery fee without the yearly option is a percentage or a flat fee.
Has anyone ordered the meals? |
|
it is $100 for a yearly membership. get the cooler, too!
i havent done the meals but i have done the meat boxes and the salads. we love the breakfast meat box. i will also get the ground beef one. salads were pretty good, too! i did the produce boxes a fair amount during quarantine, those were pretty decent without the hassle of a formal CSA. i have only good things to say about SMC! they did change our delivery time to 2:30am (lol), but i leave out a bunch of ice packs in the cooler and everything is fine at 6a when i get it. |

Reviving this old thread because I am so happy with their prepared thanksgiving food and just wanted to tell someone about it.
We got two of their pre-made sides boxes and they were all delicious. Tasted fresh and could have passed for homemade. All we had to do was cook steaks (my family hates turkey) and we had an entire thanksgiving meal. This was by far the lowest stress thanksgiving I’ve ever had. I will definitely be ordering their prepared foods for future holiday. |
| Thanks so much for posting this. I have been tempted by their prepared meals but was unsure of the quality. Will keep this in mind for Christmas! |
Np. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you need to rain on our parade. We got the turkey and it was one of the best. We ali got a few sides also good. |
I am sad that South Mountain closed its "From the Farmer" produce delivery service. We kept the new produce delivery for a while but were much less happy with the quality and with the fact that boxes can't be modified. And they also switched bakeries, from what I can tell, and we like the new breads much less. I'll use South Mountain for treats like eggnog, but I definitely won't be getting as much from them as previously. |
| People who like South Mountain but not some of the products might want to check out 4P. We used to use them before they instituted a mandatory delivery fee. |
I have always been disappointed by their meat options. We like their milk but the last two times I ordered the chocolate milk was sour. |
| Is South Mountain still the best place for milk deliveries for a nice fall cocoa? |
| I always thought it was overrated. The milk was good, but I think you can also find it at the grocery store, WF or HT right? I’ve cream was sickly sweet. Coffee cake that people rave about was ok, but not spectacular. |

I get eggs, whole milk, skim milk, and half and half every week. I love getting it delivered and the quality is high.
Every few weeks I get their frozen pre-formed hamburgers to grill. And their chicken breasts are excellent. This week I got the apple/pear bag, and we're enjoying those. I haven't bought any of their prepared foods before. |
|
I get their milk and eggs weekly.
The prepared food is not to my taste. I REALLY like the parbaked bread that you finish in your oven, though. |
