Good for her! Sloan Kettering is the best!

Let’s wish Justice Ginsburg the best! We can’t afford to lose her, and have Drumpf put someone on the Supreme Court who will make abortion illegal

The consequences of her death are too awful to imagine - but I hate to say it...I don't think there's any chance she'll survive through the election.

+1. She’s got weeks. It will be announced suddenly and soon. Just what we do not need before this already insane election!

There’s more to it than that. She could have had the stent put in in DC or Baltimore. If she’s at Sloan, it’s bad.

I wanted her to retire back when Obama was in office & the Ds held the senate. Some others said the same - we were shouted down as being anti-feminist (I proudly self-identify as a feminist).

I think she will die very soon - the GOP will jam through a far right reactionary...it will change the entire narrative for the election and serve the GOP well.

The effect of a 6-3 court will be devastating b/c there will no longer be a single moderating judge. Abortion, LGBT, voting...all rights that will crater.

This is exactly what will happen. Trump will replace RBG, and then be rewarded with four more years.

There's nothing that will galvanize right-wing America more than Trump handing them 6-3 control over SCOTUS. If people are looking at something that will wash Donnie's sins away from skeptical Rs it's getting another judge.

Not only will he energize his base...he will be able to claim likely 7-2 control if they re-elect him and leave him with the senate...because Breyer ain't young either. And if he's re-elected, expect Alito & Thomas to retire.

They will all be replaced by right-wing reactionaries whose main "ideology" is the GOP's platform at any moment.

No, she doesn’t, you idiot. She has pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver. Not that that’s any better. If anyone can hold off death for six months by sheer force of will, it’s RBG. If she can hold off for three months and Biden wins, then we can invoke the ‘McConnell rule’ and declare any Trump appointee invalid. Sure, it’s bullsh*t, but who cares anymore? Both sides can play this game.

There is no McConnell Rule to invoke. The GOP will continue to control the Senate even after the election (if Trump loses), and they will gladly install a Trump pick after that date. Hypocrisy? Yes, of course. But it will happen, and there is nothing even a victorious Biden or Dens can do.

Lol no. The 'McConnell Rule' isn't actually an enforceable rule...it's just typical GOP b.s.

Even if RBG manages to stay alive until Biden wins (both of which are far from guaranteed, especially the former) there are 2+ mos until the new president is sworn in. The GOP will be very happy to use that space, if need be, to confirm a new SCOTUS judge...whatever fall out comes from doing this will be a drop in the bucket from the extreme benefits they have from having a 6-3 court for the next generation.

The conservatives will not have to worry about a "renegade" moderate judge b/c on every LGBT, labor, abortion, voting rights, etc decision they're cool if one of the conservatives goes against them.
