Let’s Discuss: Fascinating Instagram Influencers

Also Mormon culture puts an emphasis on physical beauty. There are more plastic surgeons in Utah and plastic surgery add than anywhere else I’ve lived including LA and Miami.

Can someone explain the Mormon culture to me? How are so many so wealthy? Why do they blog and live like this (turtle creek lady being the extreme example)

Well they aren’t all rich. But in the Mormon culture there is ZERO shame in being rich and flashing it as long as you’re a good (read:tithing) member of the church. The more you have, the more the church gets.

As for Mormon women, blogging is popular for the same reason why MLM schemes are. Women are very much discouraged from working outside the home and they have kids early. They’re college educated but are discouraged from using their degrees, in the case of UMC Mormon women. There’s also hiring discrimination because ppl assume they’ll quit at age 23 to have a kid.

The boys go on 2 year mission trips around the world after high school. They are the boys you see wearing white shirts, ties and pedaling bikes around town in groups of two.
They learn how to talk to strangers and learn other languages and learn how to live internationally. These are all good skills for future businessmen to learn.

Contrast this with a recent thread of the 15 year old who broke out into tears as she was unable to talk to a girl scout selling girl scout cookies.

Re: Turtle Creek - where does she keep all this stuff when it’s not being displayed? That mansion must have one heck of an attic!

That 15 year old had serious anxiety and needed therapy. It isn’t fair to compare her to adults who go on missions in college.

Then I suggest GOMI, a fantastic page for hating on all bloggers.

In all seriousness, I thought they were doing one? I swear I read about that recently.

Just found an article on it - https://www.vulture.com/2019/11/real-housewives-of-salt-lake-city-joining-bravo-franchise.html

Wait... Instagram "influencers" are fascinating? They are the most vapid creatures imaginable.

Honestly, they look depressed to me. There's something really freaky about these women.

@TainaLicciardoToivola Jesus-loving, vegan, homeschooling mom of 10. All children wear white and have white/light hair. Youngest appear to be blanket trained. They live in Finland? Australia? Not sure, they’re often globetrotting....

Anyone else follow them? Let’s discuss! Or... got anyone else I should know about?

The first one has huge huge teeth. What does it mean to be blanket trained? The second one probably scotch taped her uterus from falling.

Why does she smile so big in every picture? The bottom teeth smile creeps me out. Can't she half-smile (or soft smile) so it doesn't show bottom teeth? The pictures would be far less creepy. Or maybe her teeth are veneer and stick out, so it's hard to keep them 'tucked in' when smiling?

She looks insane.

She definitely does!

Right??? Screams disordered to me

Yes disordered. She recently made a candy cake for her daughter’s 11th birthday party. Everyone was allowed to binge on refined carbs on party day. The daughter threw up multiple times.

For sure. I mean, she looks disordered.

Interesting she seems to wear a good number of sleeveless tops. Her MOB dress was even sleeveless. Somewhat surprising since she wouldn't be allowed into the Temple wearing that and I would expect a Mormon in good standing to be wearing their garments.
