Some of you are focusing and blaming your grievances on minorities and non-whites and telling on yourselves. The problem is not that we have a diverse county. This should actually be embraced. The country officials need to do a better job of balancing creating an environment welcoming to everyone with real policies that bring jobs, improve education, improve our economy, and improve housing.

You are correct. However, there are different kinds of ‘diversity’. I am not White and I am all for increasing diversity. However, the MoCo leadership approach of actively encouraging illiterate immigrants from Central and South America to come here illegally for free services is not going to work in the long run. Encouraging illegal immigration to maintain a low-cost labor force is not a sustainable model.

He won by 77 votes in the primary, in a 6-way race where the moderate vote got spread across a few good candidates. Elrich had a good strategy -- pander to two fringe groups (unions and ultra-progressives) and that was enough to win in a 6-way race.

That's at the primary level, since in MoCo local politics, anyone with a (D) next to their name wins in the general.

Maybe the GOP needs to stop acting like a dumpster fire and go back to centrist policies? Their brand is tarnished in any jurisdiction with a well educated populace and high incomes.

eh.. I went from being a R to Independent, and now D because of people like Cheney and Trump and Trumpsters when I noticed their nationalism and racist tendencies.

I also noticed many folks in NoVa and SoCal who used to vote R now seem to be voting blue. There was that whole blue wave in NoVa and SoCal (where I'm originally from).
