Montgomery County is what brought us Donald Trump

Trump was elected because white people in this country have become increasingly radicalized by a white supremacist ideology that the GOP has low-key embraced for years. Trump didn't create the modern GOP, but he rode that wave of Caucasian resentment to the White House.

When it comes to MoCo, PP is absolutely right. I can disagree with some things that Erlich and the council are doing, but if my choice is "farther left that I really care for" or "the party of the Confederate Flag and babies in cages," them I'm voting for the Democrats every single time.

Three million more people voted against him than voted for him. That's not riding a wave into the white house. Those who voted against him -- the majority of Americans -- are disgusted and appalled by him.

You are counting the illegals who voted right? Just get it correct when you speak of the majority of "Americans."

Hypocrisy of liberals?? Conservatives always pull this garbage out when they have zero points to make.

Let's see perfect example Donald Trump the "good Christian with Christian values". Says the guy who cheated on his wife, stole monies from contractors and scammed students, Trump University. Yes, liberals are the only ones full of hypocrisy. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Not np, but my favorite liberal hypocrisy in my old Bethesda neighborhood, environmentalist. Sure, you own not one, but three HUGE trucks, are within walking/biking distance of a metro and you gas guzzle like s...! Oh and the amount of plastic bags in the recycling bins from the grocery stores, why aren't you using the reusable bags? What's the problem? Even better, social justice for all with the exception of the majority of my neighborhood who put their kids in privates the first time diversity entered our publics. But the best one, the WE LOVE EVERYONE signs in the yards, BLACK LIVES MATTERS signs, rainbow signs, whatever the current political cause might be, yet not ONE family of color within a three block radius. F G hypocrites liberals are, I don't trust them as far as a can throw them. Of course I lived in a neighborhood with lots of government contractors/foreign service types, career individuals who really just never want to lose their jobs and their benefits, could care less about what was good for my family or others. It is/was all about them.

Wrong, plenty of voter fraud in many states. I believe it was a couple hundred thousand in California alone. But you keep believing in Santa Clause.

DP

Plenty of voter fraud. In some states, it’s actually quite easy to commit voter fraud and it definitely goes on. Montgomery County chooses to not ask for ID and it is easy to vote in someone else’s place if you know that person will not be voting. As long as you know their address.

Plastic bags- for real grocery shopping. Countless times when over the years I've been in grocery stores and seen people with reusable bags buying boxes of plastic bags for trash can liners. We use the free grocery plastic bags as trash can liners.

Bethesda, etc on noise- DCA airport exists and is convenient. Some vocal activists complain about airplane noise yet do they use an alternate airport? No. It's off to Reagan. Exactly how to they expect the planes to fly? The airport is where it is...

I doubt most DT voters know or care about MoCo. However, as someone who looked at moving to MoCo for over a year, and then grew disgusted and switched to Nova, here are my issues with MoCo;

1. All of the tech and finance jobs are in NoVa. And MoCo doesn’t even care to compete.

2. At the very least, MoCo could make it attractive for people who work in NoVa to live in MD, by increasing roads and public transportation across the river. But NIMBYism reigns supreme. The recent news is too little too late.

3. There are several neighborhoods in Potomac near 495 with good schools which would be great for young parents who commute to NoVa. But they restrict tear-downs and let’s face it, a dual-income couple with little kids aren’t going to want to maintain a 50-year-old house. So those homes remain retirement communities.

Oh, and:

4. The school board has enacted some anti-Asian policies recently in the name of social justice (interestingly those policies are neutral towards or in some cases even benefit white students). Based on what I know so far, NoVa is a lot more egalitarian.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.

Plenty of dual-income couples with little kids actually are doing this.

People tend to confuse "I don't want to do X" with "Everybody doesn't want to do X".
