On the big field the wrestling matches stop and passing matters. Midfield is king but is very hard to find. I think this is because you do not develop offensive midfielders in our system in the u littles. The field is small and size, speed and physicality will win. You really do not need high soccer IQ or to be very skilled to do well under u13 in our system.

The full field and more players makes the game a lot more complex. The big girl pushing her way by smaller girls ends because everyone has gone through puberty. Everyone on the field will be physical and fast enough. It becomes a skill game at midfield. Defenses and goalkeeping get much better. Goals are hard to get. The premium is for players who can see the field, have foot skills to create space, hold the ball, pass accurately under pressure, move off the ball and creativity.

It’s a different game. It goes from checkers to chess. Calls for different skill sets at different positions vs 9v9. So things changed.

They only scored 1 goal the entire tournament. Did they lose top players to FCV again or was it just lack of development and poor coaching, when compared to other clubs?

FCV 07 were exposed as well to lack of development. They lost in the finals to a team that Loudoun ECNL 07 tied. Loudoun 07 got the tough draw with their bracket. Loudoun still better then the FCV DA 07 team.

LOL- youre a joke dude. Loudon was only able to score 1 goal. Three ties wont cut it.

CUP had already won the group by the time they played Loudoun. They had nothing to play for and just needed to get through the game rested and ready for the semi.

They are definitely getting better. That new girl from Loudoun is their top scorer and has made a big impact. They added a couple of girls from some other clubs that are now starters. FCV 07 will continue to improve as they replace the girls from a year ago with better talent. Hats off to FCV recruiting success.
