That wasn’t the point. The game changes at full field 11v11. Some advantages that players may have on the smaller field go away. Also, depth matters more. It’s not apples to apples.
FCV 07 were exposed as well to lack of development. They lost in the finals to a team that Loudoun ECNL 07 tied. Loudoun 07 got the tough draw with their bracket. Loudoun still better then the FCV DA 07 team.
Last year all the talk was about how FCV wasn’t good enough for the top bracket at WAGS. See below. By that logic, they’ve clearly done something right if a year later they now can get to the WAGS final with basically the same roster.

The second bracket at Discovery Cup is not the same as the top bracket at WAGS.
