WAGS 2019

The best FCV players are always from Loudoun. FCV can’t develop. But Loudoun can’t keep their best players either.

First year playing 11v11 full field probably more at root.

It is the first year playing 11s for those other 3 clubs too.

That wasn’t the point. The game changes at full field 11v11. Some advantages that players may have on the smaller field go away. Also, depth matters more. It’s not apples to apples.

FCV 07 were exposed as well to lack of development. They lost in the finals to a team that Loudoun ECNL 07 tied. Loudoun 07 got the tough draw with their bracket. Loudoun still better then the FCV DA 07 team.

LOL- youre a joke dude. Loudon was only able to score 1 goal. Three ties wont cut it.
FCV had just a hard bracket as Loudon did, and then got through #1 NJ team to make it to finals.

but they can make the finals. roasted.

FCV collapsed when a big girl soccer team played them as usual. The 07s are small and slow.

Why is it that FCV and McLean are so bad at player development?

"FCV had just a hard bracket as Loudon did....." That could be the funniest comment I've seen on here all day. Beach is a CCL team that FCV barely beat (1-0), and the other two teams in their bracket are win-less in ECNL. They had an easy bracket, and took care of business (as they should have).

A beach ccl team that won Jefferson Cup- same division as FCV. Can go back and forth on this all day dude. They got to the final. Period.

What you failed to mention was that bracket was "Girls U12 Elite Black".....which was the third bracket down (behind Girls U12 Champship [won by Clarkstown], and Girls U12 Elite Orange [won by Cleveland]). Beach is ok, but not an elite team by any stretch of the imagination. But I agree with you (and like I said previously), FCV took care of their business.

Give FCV a break. So the 07s are not the 04s or 05s. No club is strong at every age group.

FCV is strong at every DA age group!

Loudoun is weak U14 and older.

FCV is strong U15 and older. FCV is weak U14 and younger. It is getting harder to recruit with so many options.

Last year all the talk was about how FCV wasn’t good enough for the top bracket at WAGS. See below. By that logic, they’ve clearly done something right if a year later they now can get to the WAGS final with basically the same roster.

FCV 07 Opponent National Rankings:
650. LTSC, FCV won 2-0
1539. Bethesda Academy White, FCV Won 5-0
877. Deep Run, FCV won 6-2
388. Quick Strike, Tied 2-2

Loudoun 07 opponents National Rankings:
43. Top Hat, Loudoun lost 1-0
33. Cincinnati, Loudoun won 2-0
873. Penne United, Loudoun won 5-0
677. Baltimore Celtic, Loudoun won 3-0
136. Keystone, Loudoun won 2-0

The second bracket at Discovery Cup is not the same as the top bracket at WAGS.

They are definitely getting better. That new girl from Loudoun is their top scorer and has made a big impact. They added a couple of girls from some other clubs that are now starters. FCV 07 will continue to improve as they replace the girls from a year ago with better talent. Hats off to FCV recruiting success.

This probably explains why Loudoun 07 only scored 1 goal in the group play at WAGS this year. The star player, who carried Loudoun 07s last year, went to FCV.
