What age group? |

First time playing in this.
Where have U15's historically played? How are the "Flights" generated? Gotsoccer? How are the brackets in each flight determined? Even distribution by rank? |
05 field was much stronger last year (u14). You had Pipeline, MRM Rush, SJEB Rush, Phil. SC Coppa, Continental ECNL, Baltimore Celtic, Beadling, Total Futbol, etc. Not one of those teams is playing this year. |
This is what I think, not positive, but every tournament has a tournament director and age group coordinators that create the divisions/flights and the groups within those divisions/flights. It's not an auto generated thing. They have to take into consideration what flight the team requested when they applied (a low ranked team might be guesting some studs and want a high division or a high ranked team lost a lot of players or something and wants a middle division or a team might just want to win and sandbag and ask for a low division), then they use gotsoccer rankings and youth soccer rankings to start making the divisions. Then it's just research. I'm not sure how much time and thought they put into the bubble teams though. I would think it's a tough job. I also think that the club name may influence where they place bubble teams too. For example, if some ECNL team or just a large club is on the bubble, they will move them up over a small club. Just my 2 cents. If I'm off, please correct me. As to the locations...Looks like U15s will be all over the place. Oakmar (Oakton) for Cup flight, Hutchison and Aarowbrook (Herndon) for A, Edison and Lee District (Alexandria) for B. |
Those are all teams not from VA, so they are now playing High School in the Fall. They dont usually play fall tournaments during the season Most of the clubs you listed above are still in for U14. SJEB is saving the miles and playing in the EDP tourney same weekend. |
| I think SJEB is also DA this year. So I wouldn’t expect their 1st team. |
WAGs is a large tournament with over 500 teams playing so they need a ton of fields. Fredericksburg has 15 full size fields at one complex and Stafford has another site with at least 8. Those counties have been investing heavily in soccer fields to attract large tournaments like Wags, so no one should surprised when tournaments book those fields first. |
Where are the top VA teams, i.e. McLean, BRYC, VDA, Loudoun, Richmond, etc. I can understand MD teams not playing but even Bethesda ECNL is playing in Discovery. Something is going on. |
I know Bethesda isn’t playing in it because Maryland doesn’t have oct 14 off school |
WAGs will be fine. It is a good tournament. So is the Discovery Cup. It is good that we have two good local tournaments to choose from. Each has its pros and cons, but they are good tournaments. |
| SJEB is DA |
