No need to talk. http://events.gotsport.com/events/Default.aspx?eventid=70823

U12 Richmond Strikers are doing well. Other local area teams not too good- top bracket Loudoun(0-1-1) and Baltimore Union(0-1-1) very small chance of advancing ...econd bracket Arlington(0-0-2) out, Baltimore Celtics(0-2-0) out, SYC (2-0-0) looking good, VSA(2-0-0) looking good.

pretty obvious how much has changed. Arlington is no longer what they were,Richmond Strikers and VSA are the top teams in VA every other team is losing

Arlington is the same as they were. They just did not develop from u11 forwards. Arlington will have to replace a lot of girls to be competitive in DA. Richmond Strikers are the best team in Va. VSA....no they are in the second bracket. Big difference between the brackets. The two Baltimore teams- union and shamrock in the top bracket are pretty good but they took a beating. Loudoun was respectable.

It’s Richmond Strike followed by a distance Loudoun.

VSA beat Loudoun twice at Loudoun's tournament in August.

You also lost to SYC in that “tournament” but August tournaments do not count. Lots of kids on vacation and what not.

Seriously check out the teams playing in the top flight today. They are a lot better vs the 2nd flight. It’s the difference between your top team vs your second team. Win in the top flight(like Richmond Strikers) and come back. Your bracket is not a “group of death”. Good job winning it but it’s was pretty weak.

NP. The amount of Loudoun biasm on this board is amazing. Loudoun is not in a group of death. They are in the easiest of the three brackets of the top flight. They should have been in the second flight. They may or may not have made it to the semifinals even in the second flight.

Some might be, but Loudoun isn't one of them. VSA has played the Strikers a number of times...

Well it’s official ....Va and Md are second(really 4th) rate soccer states. How is the CCL etc working for everyone?

Last year Loudoun 07 was 3-0 and +10 on GD in group play and advanced to the WAGS final. This year they played 3 teams they beat last year at WAGS by a combined 7-0; this year they tied all 3. Lack of development exemplified.

First year playing 11v11 full field probably more at root.

You would hope results like this would make people realize that the leagues aren’t helping, but probably too much $ at stake for anything to change.

It is the first year playing 11s for those other 3 clubs too.

That wasn’t the point. The game changes at full field 11v11. Some advantages that players may have on the smaller field go away. Also, depth matters more. It’s not apples to apples.

11v11 is where good coaches start separating from the mediocre ones. It gets harder to score of the long punts to a big fast striker.

If a club isn’t developing players for 11v11, and is playing to advantages to win at 7v7 and 9v9, they are a worthless club.

You just don’t get it.
