Montgomery County is what happens when the Social Justice Warriors take over

Asians are the only ones holding up mcps ratings. They won't put up with all of this and will move. It will destroy mcps.

Now the county liquor monopoly has been renamed from "Department of Liquor Control" to "Alcohol Beverage Services". I'm not making this up:

https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/business/county-liquor-department-gets-a-new-name/

I bet 90%+ of county residents want the county to be out of the liquor sales business, but the workers there are strong union supporters of Elrich, so no way that's gonna happen.

I thought I actually read somewhere that most MCGEO/county union employees including DLC employees don't even live in MoCo.

Elrich wants them all to be fully trained in "racial justice" (I'm not kidding) so this takes time.

I only wish he trained them in "competence" instead.

It’s racial equity. He is training no one. There is nobody on that 2nd floor running the trains.

Yep. Racial equity. It’s the buzz word that the MoCO residents orgasm over.

Meanwhile the School Board is openly hostile towards Asians. See the recent lawsuit filed with the Office of Civil Rights regarding how MCPS actively discriminated against asian students for Magnet Admissions. All in the name of racial equity. The Superintendent has been horrible towards the Asian parents who brought this complaint forward.

(And I’m not Asian, FWIW)

Friedson seems decent so far. He's the most fiscally responsible of the bunch as he used to work in budgeting. Albornoz is new and so far hasn't screwed up too much. Yes, the bar is low.

Riemer is going full-on whack job since he's term-limited from running again and is running for Elrich's spot. I think Navarro is term-limited also right?

Friedson seems to be going along with Riemer on everything and I think Riemer is a nut job. Yes, this is Navarro's third term so she will be out. I'm glad. I'd like to see more women on the council but Navarro sucks.

BS.
Asians only make up 14% of the school population of 159,000. Their scores have little effects on MCPS ratings.
Asians did not make MCPS what it was or what it is.

Riemer may be goofy but he’s saving your public safety radio system...

People, the Executive Branch is falling apart. Absolutely falling apart. Nobody wants to work for Elrich. And the folks he has are incompetent. I hope the Council has the backbone needed to avert this latest police chief disaster in the making.

Not really. He’s got a lot of department head vacancies he can’t seem to fill......the liberal version of Trump.

Yes, including the outspoken head of MCGEO (Renne). He lives in Frederick County.

Actually it's gotten so bad that Hogan had to step in on it because MoCo is incompetent, particularly Elrich: https://patch.com/maryland/rockville/hogan-push-through-new-emergency-radio-communications-system

It failed again during yesterday's storm: https://wjla.com/news/local/montgomery-county-radio-system-suffers-glitch

Luckily yesterday's strom wasn't as bad as Monday's, but can you imagine if people were in flooding conditions and needed rescue, and the first responders can't even get the call? Makes my blood boil.

Anyone think crime will skyrocket nowafter the aspen hill incident? I’ve read things saying police are hesitant to do their jos now according to Kevin Lewis

Yes, the County is a parody. I hear more and more from registered Democrats that would never vote for a Republican at the National level who are utterly disgusted with the absurd identity-based politics that now dominate every conversation in MoCo. I can't think of any conversation that doesn't focus on the coddling of this identity group or that, while bemoaning white privilege. It's clear that the Social Justice Warriors have or are in the process of overplaying their hands. I can only hope that the correction (seen simmering on this post) begins to take hold quickly, before the 2020 election, or Trump and his monarchical allies will be much further towards their goal of effectively abolishing the republic.
