People in their late fifties and early sixties are not Baby Boomers, despite what you might have read. That cohort has very little in common with the Baby Boomers and, in fact, encountered very different circumstances in their growing up years. They began their adult years during one of the worst recessions ever with very high unemployment rates in the 9-10% range and mortgage rates in the 12-14% range.
