Stop complaining about the way patents are raising kids today versus twenty years ago

Every single Milennial I know as raised by BOOMERS. All my cousins, my little brother, my friends who are in their 30s.

And don't you dare insult my children.

So your parents had your brother very late in life? Your friends in their 30s, how old are their parents now? BTW, I have Gen Z kids, guess what? Good kids, I can see living on their own will be a problem. I hope I am wrong.

Perhaps this generation can start by not criticizing and complaining about how lazy and irresponsible boomer parents were—see how that works?

We will complain about you and your parenting style compared the past. Deal with it (whithout running off to your "safe space").

You millenials are the most self-absorbed, narcissistic, infantile generation ever. Your so immature, they now have offer remedial classes to adult millenials just to learn how to "adult!"

Pathetic. I can only imagine what confused little brats you must be raising.

But who raised that adult? Why weren’t they taught how to assimilate to the real world as they grew? Or do you not believe the way you raise your kids has anything to do with their success as an adult?

Or the fact that millennial came into a crappy job market and housing market because the generations before us were greedy and we’re now suffering for your mistakes?
. The first rule of “adulting” is not to blame others for your unhappiness.

Anyone who has taught or worked with children over the past 20-30 years can tell you that parents are massively more anxious and hovering than they used to be, and this is due to one thing: the Internet. Since the late 1990s parents have made the internet into an echo chamber of their anxieties, causing everything from the ridiculous anti-vaccine movement to the epidemic of “have you had your child tested??” diagnoses.

And most of the parents doing all of this have been Gen X, not Millenials.
+1 plus I think we have an entire generation with no coping skills or resiliency. Holy crap, stop whining and complaining and start doing, and while you are at it stop being offended at everything. Geez.

Nah, you just made that up.

Adult in age perhaps, certainly not actually acting adult.

Being an adult by virtue of age and being andikt by virtue of maturity are two different things—case in point.

My mom was 30 and my dad was 35 when they had my brother. That doesn't seem very old for an educated professional. And they are both solidly Boomers.

My friends in their 30s have parents that are in their late 50s early 60s so late Boomers but still Boomers.

Oh no, you'e not allowed to complain about having graduated into the worst economy since the Great Depression, or about having massive student debt that Baby Boomers didn't have. That makes you narcissistic.

Hey, Baby Boomer PP: Did you ever think about the fact that your American Dream was, for a lot of people in your generation, funded by the GI Bill (which paid for college and a house for tons of baby boomers)? You didn't have student debt on NEARLY the level we have. The job market was significantly better in the 60s and 70s than it was when most of us graduated from college.

You call it complaining and say "we did it ourselves, so why can't you?" Except most of you DIDN'T do it yourself. You got huge help from government programs and a great economy.

The GI Bill and VA loans still exist. Join the military, serve your country. You'll also get a pension.

Okay, I did just that and served two years in a war zone trying not to get my a$$ blown up. But, the GI Bill that I got was a pittance compared to what the boomers got, and I could only afford a third rate night school, AND had to pay additional funds out of pocket bc the GI Bill was so inadequate.

Anyone care to comment on this? No? Wouldn't be great if people stopped commenting about things they know absolutely nothing about?

I'd love to see today's snowflakes dealing with nuclear bomb/cold war drills in schools today... although I guess these days there are "active shooter" drills, so maybe we're not all as different as we claim to be.

Millennials aren’t children. They are middle aged. They elected both Obama AND Trunp. And supported Hillary. Can’t blame it all on boomers.

Not true. More old, crotchety people have the time or inclination to vote than young people.

If people are too lazy to vote then the results are on them.

I think the most annoying thing about Millenials is that they seem to be under the impression that they are the first and only generation to face challenges and hardships. If you had paid attention in history class the Vietnam War wasn’t exactly a breeze. The social obstacles faced by people of color and women were significantly worse - hell birth control wasn’t even invented until the late 60s and even then they would only prescribe it to married women. So yes - you have it rough - so did and so does everyone. The difference is that there is no generation that has so frequently and loudly complained about how “hard” it all is.
