Stop complaining about the way patents are raising kids today versus twenty years ago

Why is it always a baby boomer and why are they always complaining about the way parents raise children today. YOU RAISED THE PARENTS OF TODAY!! Am I the only one who understands this? And when I brought that point up, the complainer simply said “Well my daughter doesn’t do XYZ...” We get it, we’re inferior parents but only because you raised us to be

last time I checked, once you become an adult you have the choice and free will to live your life according to how YOU want to live. No one should be blaming anyone for anything.

Any patents that raised kids 20 years ago should have expired by now.

You, who? Are you having an issue with your parents? And did you have a baby at the age of 20?

Baby boomer here. I raised my kids to spell correctly and to edit for typos. I'm more than proud of both of them!

I'm a boomer and think the younger mom's here are doing a great job.

No, OP. Just no.

We will complain about you and your parenting style compared the past. Deal with it (whithout running off to your "safe space").

You millenials are the most self-absorbed, narcissistic, infantile generation ever. Your so immature, they now have offer remedial classes to adult millenials just to learn how to "adult!"

Pathetic. I can only imagine what confused little brats you must be raising.

Preach! My oldest is 29. Youngest is 16. I have a foot in both worlds. The difference is truly astounding.

Millennials are anywhere from 18-35 years old, roughly. Both your kids are millennials.

But who raised that adult? Why weren’t they taught how to assimilate to the real world as they grew? Or do you not believe the way you raise your kids has anything to do with their success as an adult?

Or the fact that millennial came into a crappy job market and housing market because the generations before us were greedy and we’re now suffering for your mistakes?

Even if the patent has expired, the copyright is still good.

Oh no, you'e not allowed to complain about having graduated into the worst economy since the Great Depression, or about having massive student debt that Baby Boomers didn't have. That makes you narcissistic.

Hey, Baby Boomer PP: Did you ever think about the fact that your American Dream was, for a lot of people in your generation, funded by the GI Bill (which paid for college and a house for tons of baby boomers)? You didn't have student debt on NEARLY the level we have. The job market was significantly better in the 60s and 70s than it was when most of us graduated from college.

You call it complaining and say "we did it ourselves, so why can't you?" Except most of you DIDN'T do it yourself. You got huge help from government programs and a great economy.

I don’t think this has anything to do with millennials or the economy or anything listed here. Anyone who has taught or worked with children over the past 20-30 years can tell you that parents are massively more anxious and hovering than they used to be, and this is due to one thing: the Internet. Since the late 1990s parents have made the internet into an echo chamber of their anxieties, causing everything from the ridiculous anti-vaccine movement to the epidemic of “have you had your child tested??” diagnoses.

And most of the parents doing all of this have been Gen X, not Millenials.

I guess it's nice to have one's existence acknowledged - a rare occurrence -- even if it's only to be blamed.
