Oh please, my old neighborhood in Bethesda changed over 30 houses in the last year, and they are all white, the new neighbors that is .... I just left, but this is complete bs coming from you. In those liberal elite neighborhoods, such as my old one, it is still all white young families with multiple children (three to four in most cases). You still need 1.1 and above to purchase in that neighborhood and the generational wealth is definitely helping out. Rockville is its' own social experiment and has been for the past twenty years. The schools are not number one any longer and very well may never be again. I mean that curriculum/common core thing, what a disaster for those families! Those leaving DC are (most of whom moved into my old neighborhood) left because their liberal version that if they moved into a neighborhood, got Whole Foods there and jogged twice a day through the streets, that the neighborhood would magically transform. And it doesn't as they found out just in time for their first child to start elementary school. They left DC because that social experiment has failed as well. Case in point, the poor cashier shot last week at the Whole Foods. And to think the mayor was reelected unchallenged with the problems the city has .... I never thought I'd say this, but please bring Marion back, please!

ok, but the people moving into Rockville are all professionals. We have lawyers, doctors, scientists, IT professionals in my neighborhood. Several AA lawyers, Asian Americans, etc... I live here and see who my neighbors are. Where do you live that you think you know who's moving in/out of Rockville?

DC isn't made for the middle class period

The whole liberal formula is higher and highers taxes and more services so if you aren't at least upper middle class or poor it doesn't make sense to stay here

Not only that but DC public schools are trash so the upper middle and upper class can afford to pay to go to privates but the poor get stuck in terrible schools. The actual middle class in DC is scrambling to get their kids into a decent charter school. And you pay $500k, $750k+ per home for the privilege of dealing with that $*** show of mismanagement. No thanks. I will stick to NoVa.

Well off, educated, black neighbors are the best.

All the positives of black people - outgoing, cool, friendly

Without the negatives of lower ses AA crowd.

In MoCo its occurring widely in Silver Spring, Gaithersburg and Germantown. People in Bethesda, Potomac, western Rockville and other areas west of 355 don't notice because this is where the whites are fleeing to from those areas. You can see it in the wide capacity gaps between ES schools in Potomac and North Potomac. The high schools should be empty because of the low ES enrollment but they are always at capacity because people move from the bad areas to get into good schools for high school. Its driven by poverty as the poor are pushed further east and north. As property values drop in those areas more of the small SFH become poorly managed rentals attracting too many people. Montgomery Village has gotten very bad over the past 10 years. Its not about the racial dynamic but about the poverty which brings along poorly maintained properties, crime and dropping school scores. No one of any race wants to live in that environment but the poor have fewer choices.

No.

Rich whites and rich Jews are worse neighbors than middle class jews and middle class whites.

Same with Asians.

Wow! I am a well-educated, upper SES black person. I didn’t realize that my blackness automatically made me cool and extroverted, and that my family's HHI made us acceptable to wipipo. Neat!
