Yes, statistically whites are far more likely to be victims of crime by blacks than the other way around.

Many of us who grew up in MoCo in its best years cannot bear to see what it’s become. Many of us who’ve upped sticks to the exurbs now feel the crowding of new arrivals and are plotting our next moves. Memories of the harmonious homogeneity of our youthful neighborhoods make majority white areas attractive. Having seen both sides, I’d simply prefer to live among my own. Latinos do this and are not criticized, same with blacks, E and S Asians. I feel no guilt and no need to apologize for seeking the demographic which suits me. The constant criticism of whites is tiresome, and living in a low-trust (multicultural) society is not for me. We’re in a very white area now, and love it, but don’t plan to stay and wait until it changes.

The last of my MoCo friends are planning their exit so I’ll have no need to drive those wretched roads to visit. They’re getting out of MD altogether, and I believe it’ll be our next move, as well. I want more distance from DC and Baltimore - even from Rockville and Frederick!- should TSHTF.

Serial groper? I recall having had a rapist in the WH and kept hearing that “it’s only about sex/ it’s private/ the Euros all do it/Americans are so puritanical”, etc... I’m sure you no doubt voted for his enabler wife in 2016, the one who shamed her husband’s victims and called them “bimbos”. I used to live in a majority minority neighborhood in DC and yeah, it was tough with the gunshots, package/bike theft, occasional scary encounters, litter, obvious drug sales and discarded needles even (like 10 years ago)..

Did the study look at the ages of the people moving in and out? Are we talking retirees? Young families? Empty nesters? People move for reasons related to stage in life, so I'd be interested to see how the study factors in those issues.

Take a look at the Columbia Pike corridor. It looks like Rt 1, Alexandria there.

No it doesn’t. Rt 1 is mostly African Americans, particularly around Gum Springs.

Columbia Pike is divided into three parts: the Pentagon to Glebe Rd once had African Americans but houses in Arlington View are now being sold to whites and the Carver Housing co-op was replaced by $8-$1m townhouses. The apartment buildings have a smattering of races but older condos like Arlington Village and the Commons and newer places near Tower Park are heavily white. The small area around the Ethiopian Community Developmemt Council has white gentrification

Between Glebe Rd and Four Mile Run, the older Barcroft Apartments are a smattering of Hispanics and refugees from mostly middle eastern countries. Frederick Courts is also a mixed bag Same for the small apartment buildings on the north side of the Pike. The newer townhouses behind the 7-11 and London Town are very mixed and are clinging to the hope that the new Harris-Teeter development at George Mason Dr will save them.

From Four Mile to Fairfax County at Baileys Crissroads is the APAH dumping grounds. If you want a comparison to Alexandria, think iof The Berg 30 years ago. That’s what Arlington County had developed to assuage its liberal guilt.

Where are these lily white schools? Most are in ever shrinking Republican strongholds in this area or in the outer burbs.

Most of the elementary schools in North Arlington are overwhelmingly white. By the time the kids get to the diverse Yorktosn or Washington Led, they have self segregated around the IB program at W-L and sports and AP classes ay Yorktown. All kids know where the white and Asian kids, the Hispanic kids, and the black kids congregate at the two high schools. And the grandparents go to the school plays and field hickory games, not the football games.

I see this too. The 80+ crowd leaving to move into assisted living, and retirement communities. I would not really consider them to be "white flight"
