How has MoCo declined since you’ve lived here?

Yeah that's why it's so distressing that all 4 of the MoCo council at large members come from a small downcounty area (Takoma Park, Kensington, Silver Spring). Same with the new CoExec Elrich.

They think the solution to Germantown's growth and traffic problems is BRT (buses). Do they realize the distances involved and how impractical that is?

Go to one of the open house forums Mar Elrich is hosting. He may come to realize it wouldn’t work in that area. He does listen, unlike 99% of politicians.

But he’s having TWO of those listening sessions in Silver Spring and Takoma Park - where he LIVES and in places that have been gettings tons of attention the last 8 years. That’s more like a Donald Trump victory tour, post election campaign session than a ‘listening session’.
Nothing for Poolesville, Gaithersburg or Bethesda. We still don’t exist. It stings and I don’t believe that he’s going to be any different than the usu

I'm by no means a fan of Elrich (I voted Ficker), but didn't he have a "listening session" in Germantown last week? I think he was doing 8 of them, and 2 were upcounty.

and the "silver spring" one is not at all close to downtown silver spring - it's in the eastern side of the county

Yes he had a Germantown one which was a packed house. I didn't attend but a neighbor did and he said that Elrich sounded very reasonable and that he could tell that he really cares and wants the best for the county- even economically. He didn't come off as this socialist that everyone here keeps talking about. This is coming from someone who was not a fan of him at first and someone who tends to vote Republican. By the way, David Blair is on Elrich's transition team.

Oh cool! What is Blair doing for him on his transition team?

I grew up in West Virginia where it's poor and everyone lives in a trailer with the exception of wealthy people. Montgomery County seems pretty nice to me.

Asked the deli manager about this and she told me to never touch it, they do it all the time. The deli manager is a brown person. Onward to Panera bread on Wisconsin ave, stoppedi in with pre teen daughter only to have her ogled by the middle eastern coffee drinkers that seem to have taken over the place. I told her she was being paranoid and then she went to get our drinks and utensils only to have two of these fools corner her while pressing their bodies against her. Were it not for the quick thinking employee who jumped in to get them away from her I think I would have killed them! The employee told mei really needed to stay by my daughter in there. The employee was a brown person. I can go on and on with examples. So to the racist person on this board, there are plenty of brown people in this county who agree it is a sh t hole county. Left just recently after thirty years and won’t even shop there any longer. It is a social experiment gone crazy.

Wow. That's awful!

White guys do this type of sh*t, too. Ask me how I know.

West Virginians should check their privilege

when they don't have to worry about being stopped by cops for their skin color, or people scream at them to "go back to your own country", then yes, they have some "privilege" that some minorities don't have.

You really need to learn what "white privilege means. HINT: it's not about what kind of house you live in or your income level.

The real question is when is Virginia going to get hit with a decline because of the tech correction because tech companies are over valued right know and know it and how much is that going to effect NoVA (my guess is ALOT).

Three unarmed whites have been killed by police in fairfax county over the past 12 years and they didn’t get much attention. Keep pushing those false narratives that it only happens to blacks

I don't think it will be that bad. NoVa still has plenty of jobs related to government as well.

I used to work in SV and lived through the tech bubble meltdown. Now, that was ugly. I was really fortunate, though.

Well my understanding is SV and tech industries are preparing for another tech bubble meltdown because all the companies are highly over valued.
