| and I think Blair would have been the best Exec |
I'm by no means a fan of Elrich (I voted Ficker), but didn't he have a "listening session" in Germantown last week? I think he was doing 8 of them, and 2 were upcounty. |
| and the "silver spring" one is not at all close to downtown silver spring - it's in the eastern side of the county |
Yes he had a Germantown one which was a packed house. I didn't attend but a neighbor did and he said that Elrich sounded very reasonable and that he could tell that he really cares and wants the best for the county- even economically. He didn't come off as this socialist that everyone here keeps talking about. This is coming from someone who was not a fan of him at first and someone who tends to vote Republican. By the way, David Blair is on Elrich's transition team. |
| Oh cool! What is Blair doing for him on his transition team? |
| I grew up in West Virginia where it's poor and everyone lives in a trailer with the exception of wealthy people. Montgomery County seems pretty nice to me. |
White guys do this type of sh*t, too. Ask me how I know. |
West Virginians should check their privilege |
when they don't have to worry about being stopped by cops for their skin color, or people scream at them to "go back to your own country", then yes, they have some "privilege" that some minorities don't have. You really need to learn what "white privilege means. HINT: it's not about what kind of house you live in or your income level. -signed an Asian American. |
| The real question is when is Virginia going to get hit with a decline because of the tech correction because tech companies are over valued right know and know it and how much is that going to effect NoVA (my guess is ALOT). |
Three unarmed whites have been killed by police in fairfax county over the past 12 years and they didn’t get much attention. Keep pushing those false narratives that it only happens to blacks |
I don't think it will be that bad. NoVa still has plenty of jobs related to government as well. I used to work in SV and lived through the tech bubble meltdown. Now, that was ugly. I was really fortunate, though. |
Well my understanding is SV and tech industries are preparing for another tech bubble meltdown because all the companies are highly over valued. |
