Georgetown Prep is taking a beating with this Kanvanugh scandal...does it deserve it?

Why?

Because they leapt forth to proclaim the accuser- their alum- as a hero, without bothering to check the facts first

Your post makes no sense whatsoever.

NP here. It makes perfect sense to me. Holton looks dumb coming up with a letter of support signed by 200 people who didn't even know the accuser.

+1. Because she went to Holton, she can do no wrong.

I don't think they have proclaimed her a hero. They have supported her in speaking out.

My Holton girls attended a assembly about this and it was focused on standing up for yourself.

I thoroughly support Holtons response.

What if Ford is lying and made the whole thing up - or, at least greatly exaggerated the truth as she remembered it? (Likely, IMO.) Do you still support "standing up for yourself?" In other words, be an opportunist and take advantage of a chance to advance yourself, no matter to whom else you may do harm?

A lot of us knew her from when she grew up here - the odds of her being a random opportunist (for what exactly? Harassment and vitriol? ) are pretty low in most people’s opinion.

This is not a great man. There are so many questions about him - should he not have stayed at his current level? Is he really deserving of this? Is he not causing trauma to enough people and institutions?

Like I said in another thread, Holton-Arms where my daughter attends school should not judge Kavanaugh adn the school should not take an opinion. Susanna Jones sounds like she is a me too mommy, however, should realize everyone does not not have her views.

Holton did not judge the situation one way or another. The school merely lauded Dr. Ford's bravery for standing up. In a note to parent's the school recognized that there was a wide variety of opinion on this matter within the school community. The alumni letter was not the school's doing. It was started by members of the class of 2005. I think Susanna Jones handled the situation very well.

Why should the school "laud Dr. Ford's bravery for standing up?" When they have no idea whether she is telling the truth or not? What has this world come to when an accusation is automatically treated as fact?

and we have no idea if Kanvanugh is telling the truth. Why is denial automatically treated as fact?

Innocent until proven guilty.

NOT guilty until social media moves onto something else.

Honoring someone for speaking up does not necessarily mean that you are accepting what they say is true. It means that you appreciate that potentially relevant information is being shared. And, the Holton statement says nothing about Dr. Ford identifying herself and the impact of that revelation. Dr. Ford stood up long before she revealed her identity.

Ok, and if she is lying she should still be honored for speaking up? Should UVA have honored Jackie for "speaking up" about her false rape claims?

It's not. At this point we don't know what the truth is, so why should anyone be lauded?

Equating Ford and Jackie is pretty laughable.

What opportunity do you feel she is pursuing? Derision? Mockery? Embarassment? Death threats?

Do when someone makes a sexual harassment claim, what are we supposed to do? The media brings it to a head.

ALSO/ she didn’t even want to come forward with her name bc of all this crap she’s getting now, she wanted to remain anonymous and someone leaked her name. She isn’t an opportunist.

And further more, how exactly would you tell this Susanna Jones to talk to the girls?? It’s about women empowerment and using their voices and if she is lying, the lesson is still the same. If something happens it’s best to tell someone. You see all the hoops you have to jump through to relieve the trauma and have people tear apart your personal life. It’s no wonder a 15 year old girl didn’t want to make a big fuss over this. Look at how she is being treated now.

It’s dispicable.

She’s not a dumb gal - she’s a professor of psychology and statistics at Stanford (Palo Alto U is an arm of Stanford and Stanford’s medical school).

It’s surprising to me that more people aren’t coming forward with information. Someone must have known and heard things. Are people really so comfortable in their little rich bubbles that they can’t speak up?

No, it reasonable suspicion.

There is reasonable suspicion and an investigation should be done.

Also, dr. Ford is innocent until proven guilty by you way of thinking, hence she, by your logic, is not a liar.

Spoken by a man who thinks all women are trash - an all too common scenario.
