Oops Georgetown Prep (not Day!)

Yes.

In 2002 a boy was sexually molested by fr orr at Prep.

The Prep families and admin did a hatchet job on the victim and tried to expel him. The states attorney could not take the case to trial. The school, even though they are required reporters, waited over 7 months to tell the police destroying the investigation.

Google mark judge and fr Orr the story will disgust you.

What even is this mess??

It's crazy the head of Prep at the time of the teacher used the exact same word in his letter to the community when the police finally proved their teacher was guilty.

“I recognize this news will be difficult for many members of our community,”

The school "concedes"... not helps to bring to justice... concedes. Disgusting.

16 years ago? So how many other private schools have had some kind of allegation like this within 16 years?

Every school probably ... how many have a community that vilify the accuser and work to protect the abuser, just Prep.

Prep is a fratty, bro school that hasn’t changed much at all since Kavanaugh went there. The Landon of Catholic schools.

Absolutely. The school and the culture of the school look very bad.

My opinion of Georgetown prep has really gone down after this scandal. Anyone read the Post story on Judge yesterday? What a creep!

What does the school have to do with an individuals character? This happened off campus many years ago at a private home. This is a parent/teen issue, not school issue.

The school is now involved bc the GP boys have been threatening the Holton girls and being all around awful to them.

This thread is a disgusting reminder to women that the money, power, the patriarchy and status quo mattera more than women ever will.

I'm not trying to bash the school at all. I'm catholic educated from 1st grade to college and have a DD in catholic high school as well. And again, GP will be the school of choice for my DS if the decision is left to me. So not bashing. I'm really just wondering about what locals who have experience with the school and the students.

As someone who grew up in the area and am somewhat a contemporary of the players involved in the national discussion, I can say yes, the reputation is deserved.

+1. Graduated HS in the 80s and new boys from GP.
