Not enough white people movies.

This comment is all kinds of stupid.

Michelle Yeoh was in it too!

It didn’t have Asian Americans in lead roles.

You really don't get it. The point is that ALL the rolrs, the good guys, the bad guys, the smart people, the stupid people, the nice people, the mean people, the rich people, the slightly - less -rich people, the greedy people, the generous people, etc., etc., are Asian. It's Asians in all the complexity of humanity, not a token Asian character who embodies one single stereotype, or seems to be the only Asian in the world, or something.

Do you not understand the difference between Asian and Asian-American?

Just saw it! There was one small group of 3 Asians in the whole theater so it was a diverse audience. People laughed, clapped, talked back and cried. I think everyone liked it. A little slow to start but picks up after the first 20 minutes. The soundtrack and fashion were amazing!

Really? Are you a troll?

It is called Crazy Rich Asians. It is about an extremely wealthy Asian family set in Hong Kong. What minoritiescwould fit in?

Doesn't Scarlett Johanssen play Rachel?

The hero was so weak. What a let down. It was all about women showdown. Mother-in-law vs daughter-in-law. The FILs were conspicuously absent the entire movie.

Has anyone seen it yet? Can I bring my 10 yo DD to it??
