Plenty of movies for you to enjoy then!

For your tastes you can always watch Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell.

Did you enjoy Pride and Prejudice? That didn't take place in U.S. and is very similar in its discussion of romance and class issues. Perhaps by watching movies where everyone isn't "relatable" you might learn to put yourself into someone else's shoes.

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

I'm so excited for the cast, the fashion, the locations. I hope it is as extra as the descriptions in the book.

I loved, loved, loved the book, and liked the second as well. The third dragged a bit though.

I feel like some of the casting was off from what I imagined, but I'm still looking forward to seeing it.

Who specifically? I am really excited that Gemma Chan is playing Astrid; I always pictured Astrid like her. I did wonder a bit about Awkwafina as Peik Lin and Nico Santos as Oliver, but I love them both as actors.

+1

Also curious how you'd Americanize a book called Crazy Rich Asians - or WHY you'd do that given the scale of the Asian market.

I am a caucasian woman and cannot wait for this movie. The books were ridiculously fun.

That was my plan too but my library has a 9 week wait through Libby/Overdrive. Gonna have to buy it. This is one of the few times I’ll go to the movies. The last time I saw something in theatres was Jurassic World.
