I don't know what school system you are in, but the Post has been doing great journalism on this phenomenon. Both the linked article and one about two months ago about Langley Park.

I'm pro-immigrant and pro-DACA, which is why I refuse to pretend gangs aren't a problem. My kids may not be at risk, but I care about the thousands of immigrant kids in our area who are, due to their neighborhood or having family in Central America.

Which neighborhoods and which schools? It's an issue, but WHERE?

Jesus Christ she just gave you another example. Guessing you don’t live in Langley Park so you don’t care about that neighborhood.

So Langley Park and Fairfax HS. We're up to two now...

Don’t worry you’re probably pretty safe in Potomac!

This is what drives me insane about these discussions. It's always the ones who are wealthy enough to shutter themselves off in affluent, primarily homogeneous enclaves trying to tell the rest of us that WE'RE the racists, fear mongerers, etc. for being concerned about gangs, violence, etc. in the local schools.

I’m the PP calling out the fear mongering and anti-immigrant propaganda. I live in a diverse area and I have no doubt there is a MS-13 presence at our local HS. It needs to be addressed. BUT you don’t do that by lying to get the fearful immigrant-haters spun up. Either present some facts/data or STFU.

Anti-ILLEGAL-immigrant. I'll repeat it as many times as you'd like to conflate and obsfugate. And if giving a crap about my shitty local schools that are super over-crowded with illegal aliens means I'm "fearful" by your definition, well, I guess I'm freakin quaking in my boots. NOT.

There is no confusion. If these kids are citizens, they are the children of illegal immigrants. Wouldn't have been an issue if they had been prevented from entering the US illegally, removed before getting pregnant (which they do very quickly, and for good reason). Stop playing stupid.

Actually, MS-13 was "born" right here in the United States and the gang has been known to recruit legal US citizens with family in Central America, because the family allows them to be coerced while their citizenship protects them from ICE. So, no, not all gang members are undocumented, or the children of undocumented immigrants. Quite the opposite.

And neither are all ESOL kids the children of illegal immigrants FFS.

NO one said they "all" are. Get rid of the illegal aliens, secure the border, and these non-illegal ESOL kids can have more resources, better funding, and less over crowding.

I'll ask again. Why is Trump going after fruit pickers and landscapers rather than MS 13?

Because they are illegal aliens. And, "MS-13" and "day laborer" are not mutually exclusive categories.

MS13 is heavily recruiting in nurseries and fruit farms. It is well known.

BS. Cite a source.

Common knowledge. Find me a "source" you Liberal assholes would accept that isn't hilariously biased to the left and would actually report on this.

Just how many kids do you think are “illegal”? What % of FCPS funds are paying for their education?

Or the children of illegal immigrants, who they rushed to pop out after landing here? I'd love for FCPS to actually figure this out. Does anyone dare ask this question? Or would it upset and offend the thought police?

Awesome. Here's a WSJ article mostly behind a paywall about MS-13 and illegal immigration being tied

https://www.wsj.com/articles/jeff-sessions-again-targets-ms-13-gang-1493409851

Here's an article on the NY post about how 10 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT MS-13 members murdered two girls

https://nypost.com/2017/03/02/illegal-immigants-from-ms-13-gang-arrested-for-teens-murders/

That's in the first 30 seconds of googling.

Here's an article from the National Review on how the Obama Aministration curbed the ability of ICE to arrest and deport known gang members within MS-13, and other similarly lovely tidbits.

I have kids in HS. I get word of mouth information from my own children and their friends. The gang members don't hide it - most of the kids know.

So you have a problem with US citizens receiving an education? Just because their parents may have come to the US illegally?

Source? All you know is there is a high % of FLES and FARMs. How do you know they are here illegally?

And what about the US citizens parented by parents here illegally? Seems like you are against them as well.

I'm anti-illegal immigration and people like you, whose motives are obvious. H1B visa recipients are a world away from the uneducated, violent gang members surging across the Mexican border. Please do not include yourself in that category.
