I guess those schools aren’t important to you? Too wrong side of the tracks to hold your interest? |
It's not. The prior administration prioritized deporting violent criminals. This one doesn't. |
I’d like to see Trump and ICE really go after MS-13 then rather than spending all their time raiding nurseries (I’ve yet to see evidence that these places are specific hotbeds for MS-13 like a PP claimed). There just doesn’t seem to be a coherent strategy if reducing gang violence is a big goal. MS-13 has been around since the 80s so I’m not sure how much of the leadership is actually illegal anymore. |
Once again, here is an article from the National Review on how the Obama Aministration curbed the ability of ICE to arrest and deport known gang members within MS-13, and other similarly lovely tidbits. https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/06/ms-13-gang-immigration-policy-obama-encouraged/ The Obama Administration is directly for the resurgence in MS-13 violence and the sorry state of our public schools in Arlington and FCPS, as well as it sounds like, in MD. School performances took a nose dive at the same time that Obama settled DACA kids by the thousands in the area. That, coupled with the described complete lack of immigration law enforcement, brings us to where we are today. Trump cannot fix this mess fast enough. |
+1 There was a story a while back about ICE trying to deport a teen who was a witness against the gang. "And ICE put him in the same place that they put all of the suspected MS-13 members. So he's there now with people from his high school, with people from his same gang clique, and they've told him that he will be killed when he's released, whether it's to El Salvador or to Long Island." https://www.npr.org/2018/04/05/599707010/propublica-teen-who-informed-on-ms-13-slated-for-deportation And gang members are saying that the admin's immigration rhetoric and policies are helping them, by making witnesses afraid to come forward. https://www.cnn.com/2017/07/28/us/ms-13-gang-long-island-trump/index.html |
I agree Trump should go after MS-13, and he is. I also happen to think he should go after all illegal aliens, and he is. |
"The White House noted that Operation Community Shield, ICE’s anti-gang initiative, resulted in “more than 4,300 criminal arrests and nearly 3,000 civil immigration arrests of MS-13 leaders, members and associates.” But that initiative dates to 2005, so it predates the Trump presidency." WaPo |
All illegal aliens should be deported. If Obama had stuck to this policy, this would be less of an issue today. And CNN? Really? What's next, Huffington post? |
+1 Or this is a pro-illegal alien poster who is determined to derail this thread with inane one sentence comebacks. Her next comment will probably be "So there was 2 or 3 murders. So what? Show me proof that everyone will be murdered by MS-13." |
If there is a presence at your neighborhood school, and it's at mine, and many others have said it's at theirs, and it's at every FCPS and MCPS school that I have friends or family whose kids attend....then it just might be an actual problem. Here is a story about the specific murder I spoke about earlier. The murderer went to Fairfax HS and killed a student from Centreville HS. They say they don't know if it's gang-related yet, but my child knows of this boy and he talked about being in MS-13. Everyone knew it. He also has an ICE detainer on him. It's easy to figure out, based on how spun up you and others get at the thought of it, why they are so hesitant to call it what it is. http://www.fairfaxtimes.com/articles/fairfax-man-charged-with-murder/article_53c04878-2706-11e8-a4d4-37d0b31dd1ca.html |
Priority should be MS13, not fruit pickers. |
How about this. Priority 1 for deportation: MS13. Priority 2: other illegal aliens. Everyone gets a ticket. No need to jostle. |
Try to read about this young woman's torture and murder without weeping and throwing up. |

+1 Instead ICE focuses on fruit pickers and gardeners. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/immigration-raid-worries-landscapers-relying-foreign-help-n881911 https://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2018/04/ice_raid_on_rome_farm_what_happened_so_far_whats_next.html We are spending thousands of taxpayer money going after fruit pickers rather than gang members. Not a great use of our tax dollars there. It's not like MS13 are hard to find, right? It's right in Trump's backyard. |
