I am sure this is on purpose in order to lock in players. It will be interesting to see if that works. My DD is on the fence about trying out for them, for this reason, as well as others. And despite what's been said, by the time Pride Red 2022 and incoming Visi freshmen who play lax are offered spots, it's hard to believe there will be many spots for others. |
See? Panthera has a niche already...lots of girls still want to play basketball field hockey etc...nice to know there is a place that they can go where they won’t be punished. It’s not only healthier for your child to have other activities, it’s also what college coaches want. Not to mention the team will still play to win even if the star basketball center had to miss a practice... |
What a bs response. First you quoted the wrong post and then you said stuff thats not true. No kid in High School can play two travel/elite level sports and give fair attention and dedication to both teams. Of course they should all play a sport every season at school but, by HS all top athletes have to narrow down their outside-school sports to one since they are all year round at that level. Missing practice for your year-round team for a high school game or practice is fine and of course should be excused and is by every elite sport out there. Missing for any other reason such as a concert, a party, an exam that you knew was coming for weeks, is not okay. |
| I’m sorry. Must have misread. Are you suggesting an exam should be rescheduled in favor of lacrosse practice? My kid would be off the team in a hot minute if a coach told me that. |
| I think there’s a lot of Panthera sockpuppeting in this thread. A lot of Panthera cheerleading by their organization. And hence, a lot of twisting of facts. |
| Panthera and Stars will make both of both the weaker |
No one is suggesting an exam to be rescheduled, but the player should factor the practices into her schedule when preparing for the exam. In high school & college, your kid will not get excused from practice to study for an exam. |
That’s reasonable but the prior post certainly sounded like they were talking about the exam itself as the conflict. |
Really? That seems disingenuous as if you are trying to stir it up. Of course an exam in school is never going to conflict with team practice. It’s damn clear the meaning was studying for an exam. |
| My MS daughter, who has stood on the sidelines with the team during several games reports differently. |
Actually, yes you can. And the to the PP who thinks Panthera is trying to make it possible to play other sports--in HS--seriously, I hope by the time your kid is in HS you finally realize that there is much in life that is more important than sports. |
| DP. I think it is much more likely that there are some Capitals girls on the site trolling than it would be for the Panthera team to be here posting. Girls, it isn't a good look. You can be proud of your team without grinding on someone else's team. |
| Old woman, go project elsewhere. |
Maybe one day you'll be loved but you'll need to do some work to achieve emotional growth first. |
Really, you think a Capital player reads this thread and would bother trolling. You have serious issues and reflects the horrible person you are. |
