Which posters annoy you on DCUM? What do you think they look like?

I’m a YMMV poster (but I don’t think I’m the only one). It’s common shorthand on a board I’m on for academics, basically meaning “my opinion, for what it’s worth.” Also SPADFY, which means “your ego not the only snowflake in this blizzard.”

I’m a late 30s academic chasing a toddler, with the Birkenstock and LL Bean look you might expect.

????

That makes no sense.

the ones that get me are the posters that come onto a thread to post a most thoughtful:

"I know know who this thread is about"

or

"I don't care about this topic this thread is about"

Oh, and the poster (probably the same poster) who complains about a thread that is 2, 3, or whatever years old and at the same time tells an OP to "SEARCH DCUM - THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT" Ack - drives me crazy. either let me search dcum and revive and old thread to ask a question about the topic or let me post a question that may have been asked a while back without you telling me to search DCUM.

MUSLIMA poster. She left now. But used to post about how nice Islam is to women. Yet her grandfather had 4 wives

Yes!

For the first, a slight, white, male, middle-aged, didn't get as far as he hoped in life, blames immigrants. For the second, middle-aged, overweight, divorced woman, grown kids have already left the nest, with nothing left to do in her life other than point fingers.

I really dislike hatred of immigrants, BUT, the most annoying thing in DCUM is people who can't respond to the substance of what someone has to say, so instead attack what they believe to be the other person's appearance, income, career, etc. Its loathsome.

+1

Not to mention, they get it wrong. I'm an immigrant and I'm severely opposed to illegal immigration. Can't tell you how many times a-holes like Pp insist I'm white, male, and of a certain age/income. GFY.

Anonymous wrote:The "not giving your husband sex? that means your marriage is open!" poster. I picture an average looking white male, mousy hair, medium build/slightly paunchy, not too tall or too short... the kind no one ever looks at or thinks about twice. I bet he appears as a nice guy to those around him, but inside he is seething with rage at his mediocrity and takes it out on everyone in his life.

YES! And YES to the PP who mentioned the MRA guys.

Can I add that the “you must have gotten fat so he’s entitled to an open marriage” poster—who is probably also one of the above—is undoubtedly paunchy. And he lives in his parents’ basement and hasn’t gotten any in 3 years.

Yes!

But she was so much fun when she lost arguments and started accusing western women of being toothless hags in miniskirts!

The Kate Middleton poster is probably a British ex pat who had an ex bf that looked like Harry and she vaguely resembles Kate but an ugly version.

The YMMV people are Gen Xers and the people complaining about YMMV are Millenials.

Definitely the man (I'm certain it is a man) who derails EVERY MCPS post, no matter the topic and no matter how mundane, into a discussion of CASA and immigration.

I picture him as medium height, bearded, and with a Richard Spencer haircut (short on the sides, wannabe military).

The best part of that thread is how no one called OP out on how ridiculous that question is.

You mean like all the PPs on this thread?

You can tell how shallow every single person here is by how much joy they take out of putting someone they don't like down based on those [imagined] deficiencies.

And the skeevy factor only goes up in the 50+ forum. And I'm 50+.

Me too, and I’m also 50+.

Feel free to share your reasoning. I'm paying attention.

The racist bigot who moved from Silver Spring to Poolesville to avoid the diverse kids at Blair but still obsesses about the Blair principal’s tweets. I think she said she was Asian once. I picture a person who is constantly angry.
