Which posters annoy you on DCUM? What do you think they look like?

Best thread ever!

I have 2 - the trolls who bring up illegal immigrants anytime anyone mentions MCPS schools, or heaven forbid overcrowding in the schools. And the Parent Coalition people who anytime there is a complaint about an mcps School, bring up child abuse. Over, and over, and over. They blame the superintendent, they blame the board, they're quick to finger point. Frequently the original posters post had nothing to do with child abuse.

For the first, a slight, white, male, middle-aged, didn't get as far as he hoped in life, blames immigrants. For the second, middle-aged, overweight, divorced woman, grown kids have already left the nest, with nothing left to do in her life other than point fingers.

I’m a YMMV poster (but I don’t think I’m the only one). It’s common shorthand on a board I’m on for academics, basically meaning “my opinion, for what it’s worth.” Also SPADFY, which means “your ego not the only snowflake in this blizzard.”

I’m a late 30s academic chasing a toddler, with the Birkenstock and LL Bean look you might expect.

There's more than one, since I'm also one (although I haven't used it in a while). I'm an old guy and have been on-line since before Al Gore dubbed the Internet, heck before there was an Internet. We used to post on bulletin boards (anyone else remember UseNet and the ! addresses?). When our dial-in connections were very slow (300 baud if that means anything to you), users often typed much faster than the connections could print on the screen and up on the server. So we used acronyms and license speak a lot. It became a habit and some of the habits are hard to break including YMMV.

RWNJs with persecution complexes.

Disagreeing with you is not "Liberal Intolerance," it's simply disagreeing with you. It's allowed.

Anybody who gives a flying rat's rear end AT ALL about celebrities and/or the British royal family. How sad is your life, anyway?

I hate when posters are judgmental or make fun of people's looks. So, for example, I was with the OP who is asking about annoying DCUM posters. But why do you need to bring looks into it? How does that matter? All that does is give pp's a place to make fun of people - whether it be someone who is overweight, or paunchy or middle-aged or what have you. Why does any of that matter? And I note that most of the people who are envisioning their annoying posters imagine them as overweight as though the two go together. I'm not overweight, btw, but I can't stand the overemphasis on weight in real life or online.

And I hate the "this is what google is for" poster.

If you did this on purpose, well done.

If you did not, can you describe yourself so we can make fun of the person who asked something easy to google and then complained about the "this is what google is for" poster?

brilliant.

NP

I'm actually not surprised that these were posted together. Having the habit of posting the easily Google-able things is going to make you feel stalked and annoyed by a person telling you to just Google it.

Obviously, the solution to this is a fine whine.

Here is a good example of an annoying postee.

It took a while, but I found one reference. Not sure if this is what the above poster meant but I found "some people are different from you" so the other would be "I'm also different from you", I guess.

There are 2 that are really annoying to me--

The Kate Middleton obsessed poster-- This person lives and breathes british tabloids, makes tea and teacakes and sits by her lonesome self thinking about how sophisticated she is and ruminates over why Harry didn't pick her.

The "scalp skin'' poster- Super thin, stringy, straight and oily hair that she obsesses over while leering at other women's hair everywhere she goes with a wrinkled up bitch face always acting like everyone with nice hair smells bad.
