You want people to feel sorry for the white men who feel disenfranchised such that they stockpile guns, but you would also never feel sorry for black gangbangers who join these gangs because of poverty and abusive parents.

If we don't feel sorry for such gangbangers why do you think we should feel sorry for these white guys who still have way more opportunities than a poor black guy?

Or how about we realize that both a victims of their circumstances, at least to some extent, and feel sorry for them both?

A child who grew up in an abusive home is a victim of circumstance.

A grown man choosing to not change with the times, get some education/training, move for better jobs is not a victim of circumstance. He feels entitled to the good life without having to really try, unlike his ancestors.

And let's be honest, all things being equal, it's a lot harder for a black person to get a job than a white person. There was a study not that long ago that found that resumes with "ethnic" (including Asian) sounding names get less interest than white sounding names, all things being equal.

If immigrants can come into this country, and many who don't even speak the language or graduated from HS, and their children are able to get a college degree and better paying jobs, I honestly cannot understand why white men in this country cannot do the same. Instead, they feel helpless and angry, and so they stockpile guns. Why, just why?

Seems to me, immigrants are the ones willing to pull themselves up by the bootstraps.
