Self confidence and savvy doesn't protect you or yours from an armed intruder.

Perhaps not. But savvy can help you realistically evaluate threats and help you realize that the threat of an armed intruder is quite low for most people. Your chances of dying in a gun-related incident are actually increased by keeping a gun in the house.

What amuses me is that Trumpsters like you think those immigrants from China and India, who are typically educated and work white collar jobs, are the ones taking away manufacturing blue collar jobs from uneducated white men.

Why do you think the playing field is level?

Immigration, legal or otherwise, tends to lower wages. Recent immigrants, legal or otherwise, are willing to work for less money and increase the labor pool driving down wages.

Low wage white guys likely weren't going to college to compete against non-whites, nor have direct political power (beyond that of voting) and thus don't have a position of power.
