Have you ever been personal friends with a seriously famous person?

Melania, are you guys okay now? You know, what with today's news about the lawyer, the payout, the non disclosure thing, etc...?

Justin went to Lafayette and the Field School, and Jon went to Sidwell.

Or Jared Leto- He went to Longfellow
Or Sandra Bullock - Washington and Lee HS

Kerry Washington went to GWU.

Chadwick Boseman went to Howard.

Chris Meloni went to St. Stephens in Alexandria.

Taraji Henson went to Oxon Hill in MD and Howard.

Bill Nye went to Sidwell.

John Slattery went to Catholic U.

google it.
OP, that's pretty cool. He seems like a cool guy and down to earth.

NP here...he's a nice guy. A little quirky. Has a strange and oddly specific starbucks order.

I need to do some research on this. My high school boyfriend who I’m still friends with was Field ‘89, so he must know Justin Theroux.

My grandparents were very close friends of the Bushes (HW) and often went to the Naval Observatory and later the White House

Dave grohl used to hang out with my group of friends in high school. My brother went to school with nim at Bishop Irenton and he’d hang at out house. We were so excited when he was in Nirvana. When he lived here about 20 years ago, we’d go to his house in Alexandria for bbq. He’s still a cool guy. Haven’t talked to him in years though...

I and all my SFS classmates know Jon Bernthal. Cool popular nice guy. Impressed
He’s so successful but he is certainly not a household name. Chelsea Clinton more likely (same crowd will know her).

So are all his stories about being a troublemaker BS?

My father was friends (and college roommates) with the late Jim Rebhorn. Jim was one of those great character actors who was always like the third most important guy in a movie. He was kind of a bad guy in "Independence Day," was Gwenyth Paltrow's dad in "The Talented Mr. Ripley," and was the lawyer for the prosecution in the famous last episode of "Seinfeld" where Jerry and the gang are on trial.

He was so nice that when I wrote to him as a theater hopeful in college, he wrote back a letter with advice and support.

My grandfather was kinda famous in Northern Tx back in the day. My father was pretty huge in his line of work in the southeast from ‘80-‘86. And my two uncles in the same line of work/entertainment were known in Caribbean mostly PR.

The fans of their line of work probably don’t fit in in the DC area. But definitely further south in VA. Norfolk Scope/Hampton Coliseum kinda stuff

I haven't been personal friends with a seriously famous person. My brother's former bandmate is a drummer who has played and toured with a bunch of bands (The Wallflowers, Dixie Chicks, currently with Sheryl Crow, I think) but he himself isn't seriously famous.

I'm 39 and am always the person who does not know that movie/song/whatever...and even I know who Dee Snyder is.

I went to college with Mika Brzezinski in the 80s before she transferred to another school.
She was fun. And um, I don't think that's her natural hair color.

I’m an MLB wife.
