Someone who anybody would recognize not just a select few? Or have a famous person you are personally related to on a not very distant level? (I.e not a fifth cousin trough marriage if that's even a thing?)
Do you still hang out if you are friends? What's is like? If you are family do you see them at family events? Just curious! I went to elementary school with one of Dee Snider's sons. We were aquaintances-went to his house for a couple parties. And saw his dad at school once in a while. But that's it. Always curious how it works to be actually close with a celebrity! |
| Who’s Dee Snider? |
google it.
OP, that's pretty cool. He seems like a cool guy and down to earth. |
| When you go out you will always feel like entourage. That's not necessarily bad but it isn't necessarily good. Upside is you get the trips on the private plane and the luxury box seats at the concert, etc. |
Lead singer of Twister Sister. |
NP. I've never heard of Twister Sister. |
have you ever heard the song 'we're not gonna take it, we aint gonna take it, were not gonna take ittt anymoreeeeee' if not...are you from the US? did you grow up here? |
NP here. Never heard of the singer or the band either. Born and raised in Virginia. Age 38. |
Alright you're atypical, that is a very famous song, used in a lot of commercials/sporting events etc |
I didn't say I hadn't heard of the song. I said I hadn't heard of the singer or band. Do you know the artist of every famous song ever sung? |
Don't worry OP - I had the same question. Even when I looked up Twisted Sister I had no clue who they were. The only band of a similar make-up I'd recognize though is KISS and even then I couldn't name their songs. |
And to answer the OPs question no I haven't. Still time though

Point being Dee Snyder doesn't fall under the 'seriously famous' category....however, I'm sure his name recognition was much bigger when OP was young.
For me, nope. We have some high profile parents at our kids school, one in my kid's class. They're ok. Kid brags that his dad is famous. |
I'm 44 and in the mid-80's everyone knew who he was. He would do cameos in things and it's not like they had to say "It's Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister!" He was instantly recognizable to anyone with a TV. |

Man I feel old that people don't know who Dee Snider is. Did you not have MTV? That video was on HEAVY rotation. OP, did he wear all that make-up at home? Lol.
I haven't been personal friends with a seriously famous person. My brother's former bandmate is a drummer who has played and toured with a bunch of bands (The Wallflowers, Dixie Chicks, currently with Sheryl Crow, I think) but he himself isn't seriously famous. |
