this will never happen.

Exactly. It’s idealistic, not realistic. Not as long as there are limited recourses to be fought over.

I disagree, it's already happening in most major metro areas across the globe. I'd argue that we are quickly moving towards a global culture with a few major players. Languages are dying out rapidly, human beings are more connected than ever via technology and the European Union/United Nations is still in its infancy. We've progressed considerably towards a global community and will continue to do so.

this is only happening in major cities in the west - not everywhere by any stretch.

btw this is the same thing people were saying at the end of 18th century. learn some history before you start your wild extrapolations.

Wrong - Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai just to name a few. The "west" isn't as special as you thought.

umm I come from a 2 million peole city where you can live for a year without seeing a "brown" person. so no it's not happening everywhere.

Where?

I would prefer not to say. I will give you another big city that I visited recently and where I didn't see a single "brown" person - Kiev. big cheap safe with a lo of history.

Shocker. A Russian.

Personally I think a global culture with a few major players sounds awfully boring.

I think it leads to increased stability and peace. Patriotism and nationalism is an acceptable form of tribalism that is destroying humanity.

Kiev is capital of Ukraine. Wow, just wow.
You don't even know basic geography, much less informed of life outside of the US - that means no real life experience, and you are talking about how ''people will come together and world will be one''. It's not going to happen, it's utopia. This dream is brought to life by utopians in a sequence of about 200 years. We can revisit this topic in about 200 years.

DP but didn't the PP said they visited Kiev, not that they lived there? A majority of visitors to Kiev came from Russia. Particularly given a Russian can get around fine in Ukraine because the language is easily understandable for Russians. Unless you are trying to ludicrously claim that all of this is false because no Russian ever visits Kiev.

Russian is THE biggest nationality/ethnicity in Ukraine after Ukrainian.

PP who visited kiev - again i am not russian. if i were i would most likely have visited kiev much earlier. it's a fantastic city that everyone should visit.

Well, we don't seem to be doing a good job of it. Telling people they're "privileged" and trying to guilt them into submission does not work well.

Yes, live your life and stop acting like you are owed something. You aren't.

Yes. Instead of demanding selflessness altruism from one group in favor of other groups, just treat everyone the same.

Very compelling argument. You should tell that to Trump. "Where's my Roy Cohn?"
