Seems like the Democrats' only strategy is to cry racism at every turn. This last bit about Pelosi saying the immigration proposal is a "plan to make America white again" just turns my stomach.

Dig deeper. The immigration plan calls for immigration to be based on merit .- people with skills and ability to contribute to society and less likely to go on public assistance. Is Pelosi saying that brown people don't have skills or ability, ARE the ones who are likely to become dependent on taxpayer programs, and thus be hurt by such a law? Who's the real racist here?

There aren't very many immigrants on public assistance. We need both skilled and unskilled immigrants, but to your point, a lot of people are complaining that the skilled engineers and doctors are taking "all of our jobs," so which is it? Do we want skilled people or unskilled people who work hard and sacrifice to make a better life for their kids, i don't know, like your ancestors did for you?

For me, I would want both types of immigrants. With 4% unemployment, that is virtual full employment for the country. The only way we can keep our GDP growing is to expand the pie.

Why do we need to grow the GDP at all costs when the fact is the vast majority of that growth goes straight into the pockets of the one percent? It’s not benefitting your average Americans.
