Sigh. |
Sigh all you want. I am sick of the bigoted lies. |
The civil war in Salvador has been over for nearly a decade. Guatemala, Honduras had no wars. These are economic undocumented workers. The braces are paid for by philanthropists who think they are paying for routine dental care and by tax payers who don't know what the hell their taxes are used for. |
Please provide the link to this very excellent program. TIA! |
I have worked in both PG and Montgomery county clinics. I can assure you that neither county covers braces for undocumented children.
BUT - PG dental clinics are only for HIV+ patients, undocumented pregnant women, and undocumented children. When I was at PG and had to occasionally step away from clinic to man the phones, it was very difficult to tell legal PG county adult residents that unfortunately we could not help them. There was an adult program that lasted a few years, but I believe that is now defunct. I work in public health, and although I do love what I do, politically I lean conservative. If someone can tell me why it makes sense to have clinics for undocumented women and children, but not legal residents, I would love to hear it. |
This thread is a perfect example of what is wrong with the Conservatives/Republicans. You can give facts on a topic and yet they stick to their false belief. You can tell them that something is simply not true and yet they continue to go back to their lie.
It is not worth wasting breath on anymore. |
Oh wait - so you aren't talking about illegal immigrants. You're upset that a US born citizen is receiving benefits for which other US born citizens are also eligible. That's a completely different topic. I have no idea if CHIP or any other program pays orthodontics for low income citizens. I can understand an argument that it shouldn't. Maybe you should start a thread on that. But it's patently and provably false that American taxpayers pay for orthodontic work on undocumented kids. |
Yet again, a request for a link to any program that offers teens orthodontic care if they are here illegally, please.
I did find this cool program: https://www.smileschangelives.org/for-kids-and-parents/apply-for-braces/do-you-qualify/ but this is a non profit and is certainly open to citizens. I also found out that SCHIP and Medicaid covers braces in only a handful of states. Again, those programs are only open to those who are here legally. So... please... tell us all the details about these programs open to illegal children only. |
You are saintly. You are pure as the driven snow, or a load of laundry freshly washed with Snuggle laundry detergent, with the Snuggle bear out there waiting to giggle while giving you hugs. Surely there is a place waiting for you in heaven. We get it, you are such a better person than those nasty, nasty Trump voters. They're evil incarnate, the minions of satan. ![]() |
Finding proof of orthodontia-San Francisco has a delta dental plan. But I see nothing on orthodontia - http://www.sfhp.org/members/healthy-kids/dental-services/ . I did find 1 state with massage therapy and acupuncture! Not kidding http://nmpovertylaw.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Handout-Resource-List-Health-Care-Immigrants-Final-2014-07-07.pdf "Primary care, acute care, midwife services, massage therapy, acupuncture, ultrasound, and drug rehabilitation." Yes I found the in bold as included service for illegal immigrants ... |
Prove that you know all these undocumented teens with braces paid for by the US gov...or we can safely assume you're lying |
Just to be clear, this PP is referring to a private, non governmental, non profit that offers "holistic" health care at low prices to anyone. So if you have $40 to pay for a massage session or acupuncture they are not going to ask you for your immigration status. Most of the services listed in the flier you posted are provided by private hospitals and private charities. Most govt. provided health care (Medicaid, SCHIP) and the health exchanges are off limits for illegal immigrants. The main exceptions are assostamce emergency care, pregnant women and children. Illegal immigrants can get emergency care and they do get labor and delivery and help with infant formula. They are not eligible for SNAP (food stamp) benefits. I think WIC (food assistance for pregnant women and children under the age of 5) might be the main exception. Many states offer school children reduced fee lunches regardless of immigration status. Please remember that the WIC program was created in the 1960s because of studies showing that many infants and children in low income families were poorly nourished and there was real concern that this would negatively impact not just their overall health but also their brain development. For perspective the overall poverty rate was 22.5% in 1959 compared to 12.7% in 2017, childhood poverty rates went from 27% in 1959 to 17.6% in 2017, poverty rates for the elderly went from 35.2% in 1959 to 9.3% in 2017. We have made a lot of progress but there are still a lot of kids growing up in poverty and the WIC program gives them a fighting chance. https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/snap-policy-non-citizen-eligibility https://health.usnews.com/wellness/articles/2016-11-02/where-can-undocumented-immigrants-go-for-health-care |
And we're tired of your bigotry and demonization of people who didn't vote for Hillary. You loving, compassionate liberals are treating us like we are less than human. |
Then stop lying. Undocumented children are not getting free braces courtesy of the US government. |
If you don't want us to call you bigoted aholes, stop posting bigoted ahole lies. |
