You're just reposting open-border talking points over and over. I work in public schools and see it every day! American taxpayers are paying for medical and dental work (inc. orthodontia) for undocumented children. Who do you think you're kidding, destitute undocumented kids can't afford $3k-7k braces, yet most of them have them on their teeth! The wealthy and the undocumented older teens have perfect teeth -- only 30-40% of the middle class families seem to be able to afford braces for their kids. We try to work with middle class families who have a child with really bad teeth (which leads to taunting and kills self esteem) when the families can't swing it. |
Where is this? The federal government isn't paying for anyone's braces. Not aware of any states that offer this but no one has posted this information. Is it possible that a private charity paid for the braces you witnessed on your students ' teeth? |
If it is a charity, I still want to know the specifics before I fall for this. Ask them the name of their orthodontist. At a minimum I bet they are getting an excellent price! I could use that information alone. |
You mean like how Catholic Charities hauls in millions (billions?) of tax dollars to resettle immigrants while pretending they do it out of the goodness of their heart? |
Somehow I'm not understanding the logic of this. |
People see (or don't see) what they want to see. ¯\_(?)_/¯ |
Then please tell us the specific program that pays for these braces. We have requested this info many times. I am waiting. Otherwise, stop lying. |
+1. I'd like to know this info as well. I posted upthread about working in clinics in Pg and Montgomery counties. Neither county covers braces for undocumented children. In Montgomery County we do have a wonderful orthodontist that we work with who does give a discount and I believe she also offers payment plans. This is where most of our patients who need orthodontia go if they can afford it. I'm a conservative in favor of tighter immigration laws, but c'mon, saying tons of undocumented kids have braces is not a salient point in your argument. I see many many of these kids. If their parents work hard enough, they most certainly can afford it. |
Because those children are US citizens, like it or not. They are just as American as any other natural-born citizen. That's who we are: a nation of immigrants, some more recent than others. |
Immigrant Welfare Usage by Origin Country Natives: 30% Central America and Mexico: 73% Africa: 48% Europe: 26% South Asia: 17% |
It burns them that those children are US citizens just like them and often do better than their own children. |
I know, right? Kicking people when their down is pretty much SOP for right wingers and always has been. |
*they're. I can't believe I just did that. ![]() |
This is interesting. |
Well maybe the dumb parent making 40-50k should go into business for himself, accept only cash, and have no problems paying for his kids' orthodontia (or get it paid by Medicaid since the kids are legal) bc they don't pay any taxes. Hell, my handyman has all his front teeth crowned. I'm sure he paid for them in cash. Americans have no hustle, I'm afraid. |
