I'll definitely stop for pedestrians. The others I can't promise. Thanks for the laugh about the 3 feet of room. See you on River!

| It's funny how very angry cyclists get when the shoe is on the other foot and we're the ones inconveniencing and commandeering the road. Don't dish it out if you can't take it. Especially don't take it out when you're a rickety metal bike and the other people are in 3000 pound killing machines. |
Don't dish what out? It seems like a lot of drivers believe that people on bicycles are purposely bicycling specifically in order to complicate their (the drivers') lives. But that's not so. Just as drivers (I hope) are not purposely driving specifically to complicate bicyclists' lives. Particularly because drivers who do so can kill people. I drive a car, I bicycle, I walk, and I take the bus. In all of these cases, I am not "commandeering" the road, I am using the road. |
| Sounds like you're sad to be such a chicken shit coward on your SUV. |
OK, scofflaw driver. |
Not doing it on purpose is not a significant defense when it comes to knowingly causing others significant inconvenience. Parking your car in the middle of the road for a few minutes while your kid unloads, for example, is done for the sake of convenience and efficiency on your end. Doesn't make it any less wrong to do it. If you know that your actions are going to cause dozens of others to be late, to be stuck in traffic, to have their morning commutes essentially ruined... how could you possibly try to justify that? Especially- and this isn't crucial to the argument, but it does add an extra layer- in a city like DC where there are so, so many bike paths, side streets, and ways to avoid taking the main thoroughfares. |
We'll see who's the coward when a massive SUV is feet away from your tail, honking at you. Look forward to it. |
That's a good reason for you to stay out of your car, then. Because when I'm driving places, especially during the morning commute, it's people in cars who are clogging up the roads. Please don't commute by car when I'm commuting by car; it's inconsiderate of you. |
|
Bikes should be banned on roads that have speed limits over 25 MPH
Problem solved |
We'll see when you're still sitting behind your keyboard. I laugh at people you. |
Considering the number of bicyclists vs the number of car drivers, clearly it's the bicyclists providing the inconvenience. Glad you agree with my logic though. Now that you're aware of the true level of nuisance you are, seeing you on the road will result in ear-splitting honking and perhaps a last minute swerve. Appropriate punishment. |
Sure you do. We'll see.
|
+1 This thread is making me want to campaign for that to happen |
You think it's funny to threaten cyclists? Get a life you pathetic loser. |
Do what now? You compared the number of bicyclists and the number of car drivers on the roads and concluded that it's BICYCLISTS who are slowing your commute? Please drive safely and legally. I am sure that you do not want to kill or seriously injure a bicyclist with your car. If nothing else, it would make you very late to work. |
